The body is cut from 6 mm MDF and a single layer of acrylic is bonded onto the face. Nothing here is painted and nothing is printed, which is why the script keeps an edge you can feel and reads from the far end of a table rather than flattening out.

On the acrylic face. The gold and the silver are acrylic laid over the wood, not paint and not print — which is why the letters keep an edge you can feel with a fingernail and why they read from across a table rather than flattening out.

Keeping it as it arrived

Dry cloth only

Water, alcohol and household cleaners lift the acrylic off the face. A dry, soft cloth is the whole routine.

Mind the gloss

A glossy surface takes fingerprints. Handle it by the edges and it stays clean between dustings.

Keep it off a wet table

MDF swells if it stands in a spill. Wipe the table, not the piece.
