Customer photo review of Prayer Space Interior Mihrab with Geometric Design | 8-Pointed Star Motif

It is the most beautiful addition to my prayer corner in my room. Subhanallah, the corner of my room is the exact direction to face. The piece I got is the perfect size. I'm 5'5 and the piece is just a little taller than me and I believe it's 2ft wide (which is great bc it looks proportional). Putting it together was very easy and quick. The stickers holds the structure up perfectly. It's not heavy but its not super light in weight. The color is black but I decided to use the backside instead because it's a wooden paperbag-colored brown that matches a lot better with my wall color and room aesthetic. The exposed wood looks amazing so it worked out perfectly. Overall I'm very satisfied with my purchase and 10/10 recommend it!!

Prayer Space Interior Mihrab with Geometric Design | 8-Pointed Star Motif

A mihrab with a twelve-pointed star

A prayer niche, in five sizes

A wooden mihrab with a twelve-pointed star cut through the head of the arch, from a 50 cm nook piece up to a 180 cm arch for a full corner.

Three decisions before it ships

  1. Size

    Five sizes — 23 × 50 cm up to 81 × 180 cm — drawn to scale beside a chair below.

  2. Finish

Three finishes — black painted, or shiny gold or silver.

  3. Hanging

The largest size is the one that can fold into the corner of the room; the rest go flat on one wall.

Size & scale

Five sizes, from a nook to a whole corner

The smallest is a 50 cm piece for a niche or a shelf wall; the largest a 180 cm arch that reads as architecture. All five are drawn below at true scale beside a standard chair, standing on the floor the way the arch does.

Standard chair · 45 cm (18 in) wide, 90 cm (35 in) high 2XL · 81 × 180 cm 31.9 × 70.9 in XL · 67 × 150 cm 26.4 × 59.1 in L · 54 × 120 cm 21.3 × 47.2 in M · 40 × 90 cm 15.7 × 35.4 in S · 23 × 50 cm 9.1 × 19.7 in
SizeWidth × height (in)Width × height (cm)Best for
S9.1 × 19.7″23 × 50 cmA small prayer nook, a niche, or a shelf wall
M15.7 × 35.4″40 × 90 cmA musalla, or a narrow prayer corner
L21.3 × 47.2″54 × 120 cmA prayer-room wall — the size most chosen
XL26.4 × 59.1″67 × 150 cmA full prayer-corner wall, floor to head height
2XL31.9 × 70.9″81 × 180 cmA room set aside to pray in, or the corner itself

Mark it before you choose. Run painter's tape on the wall to the outer width and height, then stand back to where you normally sit and look at it from there. On a tall piece, hang it with its middle around 150 cm from the floor and the drop does the rest.

Craft

One star, cut right through

The twelve-pointed star sits at the head of the arch and is cut clean through the board, so the wall color fills it and the niche reads as an opening rather than a panel.

  • A twelve-pointed star cut through the head of the arch
  • Cut clean through the board, so the wall color becomes part of the piece
  • A painted MDF panel with its own depth and a clean cut edge
  • Edges finished clean, with no visible fixings on the face

On the cut. Because the design is cut out of the board rather than printed onto it, the wall behind becomes part of the piece and the silhouette reads from across the room.

Finishes

The finishes

Three finishes. The black arch reads as a silhouette against a pale wall; the shiny gold and silver catch the light and lift a darker room.

Islamic wooden interior mihrab with twelve-pointed star in shiny gold

Shiny Gold

The most reflective of the set and the one most often chosen for a main living-room wall.

Islamic wooden interior mihrab with twelve-pointed star in shiny silver

Shiny Silver

Throws light back into the room, so it lifts a wall that sits away from a window.

Islamic wooden interior mihrab with twelve-pointed star in black

Black

The sharpest contrast of the set against a pale wall, and the one that reads most clearly from across a room.

Hanging it

Flat on the wall, or into the corner at the largest size

Only the largest size folds into a corner, so decide the position before you mark. Set it out on the floor first and check the vertical from across the room.

  1. Find the center of the wall

Mark the center point rather than measuring in from a corner — a layered panel wants to sit centered on the wall it occupies.

  2. Tape the outline first

Painter's tape to the full outline lets you judge the proportion from where you normally sit, before any fixing goes in.

  3. Hang and check the level

Hang it, then step back across the room. A panel with a straight top edge shows a tilt more readily than a cut silhouette does.

  • Packed with corner protection for transit

Where it goes

The corner it was made for

The prayer corner

The wall you face when you lay out the mat, at standing eye level rather than above it.

A hallway or landing

It reads on the way past, on a wall people walk by rather than sit in front of.

Above a console

A main living-room wall, centered on the furniture beneath rather than on the wall as a whole.

This pieceCommonly sold alternatives
MaterialCut and painted MDFPrinted canvas, acrylic sheet, or thin laser-cut board
FinishesThree to choose fromUsually one fixed color
SizesFive, up to 81 cm wideOften a single fixed size
The textA prayer niche, cut as a screenOften an excerpt rather than the whole text

Care

Keeping it as it arrived

Dry cloth only

A soft, dry cloth. A painted board marks with abrasives, so nothing scouring.

No solvents

Alcohol and glass cleaner will lift paint. If a mark will not come off dry, use a barely damp cloth and dry it at once.

Away from damp and direct sun

Wood moves with humidity, so give it an interior wall out of the midday light and away from a bathroom.

Choose your size and finish

Five sizes and three finishes. Tape the outline on the wall — or into the corner — before you mark anything.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Mihrab is the most sacred architectural element of a mosque, symbolizing the 'gateway' to Divine presence. Displaying this motif at home helps designate a specific area for prayer and reflection, grounding the household in a state of 'Khushu' (devotion) and providing a constant visual connection to the Qibla.

Yes. Using Mihrab silhouettes is a time-honored tradition in Islamic interior design. It is intended to honor the sanctity of prayer spaces and serves as an educational tool for children to recognize the direction of worship. It is best placed in areas kept clean and used for quiet remembrance.

We use an advanced multi-layered construction that mimics the depth of a real mosque niche. This staggered 3D effect creates a sense of 'infinity' within the arch, allowing the intricate geometric patterns and calligraphy to cast subtle shadows that change as the daylight moves through your room.

Each piece undergoes a specialized coating process that provides a rich, lustrous texture. This finish is engineered to be moisture-resistant and anti-tarnish, ensuring the deep golds, silvers, or blacks retain their regal appearance without needing intense maintenance over the years.

While stunning in a living room, it is most impactful when placed on the wall facing the Qibla. This creates a 'home musallah' (prayer space), providing a dignified and beautiful focal point that anchors your daily prayers and spiritual routine.

Our design team in Turkey interprets classical Ottoman and Andalusian arches through a minimalist lens. By stripping back the heavy stone of traditional architecture into sleek, clean lines, we provide a piece that fits seamlessly into contemporary apartments while preserving centuries-old spiritual symbolism.

To maintain the pristine reflective surfaces and sharp edges, we recommend a light dusting with a dry, soft microfiber cloth. Avoiding chemical sprays or wet sponges will protect the integrity of the specialized finish and keep the intricate geometry looking sharp.

It is an exceptionally prestigious choice for public or private sacred spaces. Gifting a Mihrab design is seen as a gesture of support for a community’s spiritual growth, making it a highly appropriate contribution for a new masjid, prayer room, or Islamic library.

The art arrives ready for display with a pre-balanced, hidden mounting system on the back. This allows the Mihrab to sit securely against your wall with a slight gap, creating a professional 'floating' look that highlights its architectural silhouette without visible hardware.

Absolutely. Many of our Mihrab designs feature specific verses like Ayatul Kursi or Surah Al-Ikhlas. Our scholars and designers verify every stroke of the calligraphy to ensure total accuracy, providing you with a piece that is as religiously sound as it is aesthetically beautiful.

Our Mihrab Wall Decors are made out of mainly MDF wood and acrylic.
