Wudu, step by step

A board a child can actually follow

The steps of wudu printed onto acrylic in order, at 30 × 20 cm — made to go where the child performs wudu rather than where adults hang art.

Two decisions before it ships

  1. Size

One size, 30 × 20 cm, drawn to scale against a sofa below.

  2. Hanging

Small and light: it can hang, lean on a ledge, or stand on a shelf by the basin.

Size & scale

Small on purpose

At 30 × 20 cm this is sized to sit at a child’s eye level beside a basin, not to fill a wall. Drawn below at true scale above a three-seat sofa for comparison.

Three-seat sofa · 200 cm (79 in) wide, 82 cm (32 in) high One size · 30 × 20 cm 11.8 × 7.9 in
SizeWidth × height (in)Width × height (cm)Best for
One size11.8 × 7.9″30 × 20 cmBeside a basin, on a bedroom wall, or on a shelf at child height

Hang it at their height, not yours. The whole point is that a child can read the steps while doing them, so measure from the floor to their eye level rather than to yours.

Craft

Printed on acrylic, so it can be wiped

The steps are printed rather than cut, because the point is that a child can see what each stage looks like. On acrylic the surface takes the water and the handling that come with a board next to a basin.

  • UV printed onto a durable acrylic board
  • The steps numbered in order, so it teaches without an adult reading it out
  • A wipe-clean surface, which matters next to a basin

Why acrylic here. This is the one piece in the range that will get splashed. Acrylic with a UV print takes water and a wipe in a way paper, card or a printed canvas would not.

Hanging it

Put it where wudu actually happens

A teaching board only works within arm’s reach of the basin: hang it, lean it on a ledge, or stand it on the shelf where they can see it while their hands are wet.

  1. Measure to their eye level

Hold it at the height the child can read comfortably, not the height an adult would hang a picture.

  2. Choose hanging or standing

On a wall it stays put; on a shelf or ledge it can move to whichever basin is being used.

  3. Keep it out of the splash line

Beside the basin rather than directly behind the taps, so it stays legible and dry.

  • Packed with corner protection for transit

Where it goes

Where it belongs

By the basin

Where wudu is actually made — the only place a step-by-step board earns its keep.

A child’s bedroom

Read at leisure rather than mid-wudu, which is how the order gets learned in the first place.

A Ramadan corner

Alongside the calendar and the lantern, where the children are already looking.

Care

Keeping it as it arrived

Dry cloth only

A soft, dry cloth. Acrylic marks with abrasives, so nothing scouring.

No solvents

Alcohol and glass cleaner will haze acrylic. A barely damp cloth, dried at once, lifts anything a dry cloth will not.

Wipes clean

A solid printed board rather than paper behind glass, so a damp cloth is fine where a framed print would not be.
