The salam, in full

The greeting, complete, above the door

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh cut from 2 mm steel, in two lengths — 69 or 99 cm.

Three decisions before it ships

  1. Size

Two lengths — 69 or 99 cm — drawn to scale against a sofa below.

  2. Finish

Five finishes — matte black, gold or silver, or shiny gold or silver.

  3. Hanging

It arrives with the hanging tools, so the work is one level line at the right height.

What is written on it

The greeting said on the way in

Not the short salam but the whole of it — peace, and the mercy of Allah, and His blessings — which is why it belongs by the door rather than on a shelf.

السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

The salam

Size & scale

A long line is judged against the furniture

Both lengths are more than four times wider than they are tall, so these sit above a doorway or a console rather than filling a wall. Drawn below at true scale over a three-seat sofa.

Three-seat sofa · 200 cm (79 in) wide, 82 cm (32 in) high XL · 99 × 22 cm 39 × 8.7 in L · 69 × 15 cm 27.2 × 5.9 in
SizeWidth × height (in)Width × height (cm)Best for
L27.2 × 5.9″69 × 15 cmAbove a doorway, or a narrow entry console
XL39 × 8.7″99 × 22 cmAbove a two- or three-seat sofa, or a hallway run

Match it to the furniture, not the wall. A low horizontal piece looks right when it spans roughly two thirds of whatever sits beneath it. Run painter's tape to the full width first and look at it from where you normally sit.

Materials

What it is made of

Material
Steel2 mm sheet

Cut metalFinished in the tone shown

Craft

The depth is structural, not printed

Steel rather than sheet metal, cut clean through the script so the wall color runs inside the letterforms and a long, thin piece keeps its line.

  • The whole greeting cut as one line
  • Letterforms cut clean through, so the wall color becomes part of the artwork
  • Cut edges left clean through the fine strokes of the script
  • The weight and the edge of real metal rather than a printed panel

Why the cut matters. Because the script is cut out of the sheet rather than printed onto it, the wall behind becomes part of the artwork and the piece changes with the light in the room through the day.

Finishes

The finishes

Five finishes, three matte and two shiny. Black reads hardest against a pale wall; the shiny gold and silver throw the light of the room back.

Assalamu alaikum metal wall art in black

Black

The sharpest contrast of the set against a pale wall, and the one that reads most clearly from across a room.

Assalamu alaikum metal wall art in gold

Gold

Warm and bright, and the one that reads best against off-white and cream walls.

Assalamu alaikum metal wall art in silver

Silver

Cool and quiet, and the easiest to place in a room that already has chrome or glass in it.

Assalamu Alaikum shiny metal wall art in shiny gold

Shiny Gold

The most reflective of the set and the one most often chosen for a main living-room wall.

Assalamu Alaikum shiny metal wall art in shiny silver

Shiny Silver

Throws light back into the room, so it lifts a wall that sits away from a window.

Hanging it

One level line does the whole job

A long horizontal shows every degree of tilt, so mark the line rather than judging it by eye.

  1. Measure to the fixing first

Set it face up and measure from the left edge to each fixing point, so the wall marks come from the piece rather than from guesswork.

  2. Pencil one level line

A low, wide piece shows every degree of tilt, so mark a light horizontal line and put every fixing on it.

  3. Tape the width, then hang

Painter's tape to the full width lets you check the position from across the room before drilling.

Where it goes

The walls it was sized for

By the front door

The wall you pass on the way in and out — which is the point of the words on it.

Hallway and landing

A long, low piece suits a corridor, where it reads on the way past rather than asking you to stop.

Above a console

It spans a hallway console without crowding the ceiling above it.

Against the alternatives

This pieceCommonly sold alternatives
MaterialCut metalPrinted canvas, acrylic sheet, or thin laser-cut board
FinishesFive to choose fromUsually one fixed color
SizesTwo, up to 99 cm wideOften a single fixed size
The textThe greeting in full, not the short formOften an excerpt rather than the whole text

Care

Keeping it as it arrived

Dry cloth only

A soft, dry cloth along the length of the script. Nothing abrasive.

No cleaners

Alcohol, glass cleaner and polish will mark a finished metal surface. A barely damp cloth, dried at once, is enough.

Away from damp

An indoor piece. Keep it off bathroom walls and away from a kitchen extractor.

Choose your size and finish

Two sizes, and the finish is the rest of the decision. Tape the width on the wall first — it is the only measurement that matters.

Frequently Asked Questions

The phrase translates to 'Peace be upon you' and is a fundamental greeting in Islam that invokes Allah's name (As-Salam). According to Quranic teachings and the Sunnah, spreading 'Salam' is a way to foster love and brotherhood within a community. Displaying this art serves as a perpetual greeting and a reminder to maintain a peaceful, welcoming atmosphere for everyone who enters.

Yes, it is entirely permissible and can be a form of 'Da'wah' (inviting to good). It represents the peaceful nature of Islam to neighbors and guests. Many customers find it a beautiful bridge for conversation. As with all sacred script, the primary requirement is 'Adab'—ensuring the art is hung in a clean, high place where it is treated with the dignity it deserves.

Our mirror finishes (Gold and Silver) are highly reflective, adding a sense of light and 'Nur' (radiance) to your room. They are perfect for formal spaces. The matte finish (Black) provides a bold, contemporary look that prioritizes legibility and fits seamlessly into modern minimalist decor. Both finishes use our premium Turkish electro-coating to ensure a rust-resistant, high-end look.

Our metal art is engineered to be sturdy yet lightweight for easy installation. Most 'Salam' pieces weigh between 2 and 5 pounds depending on the size chosen. We provide specialized mounting hardware that allows the piece to sit slightly away from the wall, creating a beautiful floating 3D shadow effect that enhances the calligraphy's depth.

Absolutely. It is a wonderful way to bring 'Barakah' (blessings) into your professional life and signal your values to clients and colleagues. In a workspace, it serves as a reminder to conduct business with integrity and peace. We recommend choosing a size that fits the professional setting—large for a reception area or medium for a personal office.

While both materials are high quality, our metal art is specifically recommended for entryways because the electro-coating process provides extra durability against the temperature changes and humidity common near front doors. Metal also allows for finer, more intricate cutouts in the calligraphy, which makes a striking first impression for guests.

Yes, we use the traditional Arabic script verified by expert calligraphers in Turkey. We ensure the spelling and the 'Haraka' (vowel markings) are 100% accurate. You can trust that our art reflects the sacred language exactly as it appears on the available sources, preserving both the aesthetic and the spiritual integrity of the message.

Mirror finishes require gentle care. Use a soft, dry microfiber cloth to lightly wipe away fingerprints or dust. Never use abrasive pads or harsh chemicals, as these can micro-scratch the surface over time. Approaching the cleaning of your 'Salam' sign with 'Wudu' (ablution) and care turns a simple task into an act of respect for the greeting.

We produceo our pieces at our facility in Turkey. Following production, we use express shipping to deliver your art in 3-7 business days. With over 27,000 successful orders, our logistics are fine-tuned to get your art to you safely and quickly, no matter where you are in the world.

Yes, it can be done. First, confirm with customer service whether this is possible. If our designer approves, you will receive a custom order payment link.
