The first verse of Al-Fatiha

Gold acrylic over cut wood, on red mirror glass

Laser-cut wood topped with gold acrylic, mounted on 4 mm red mirror tempered glass. Two square sizes, 50 and 65 cm.

Two decisions before it ships

  1. Size

Two square sizes, 50 × 50 or 65 × 65 cm, drawn to scale against a sofa below.

  2. Hanging

A metal hanging part is fitted to the back and it arrives ready to hang.

Size & scale

Two square sizes, 50 and 65 cm

Two true squares, 50 and 65 cm on a side. Both are drawn below at true scale above a three-seat sofa, which is the only honest way to judge the jump between them.

Three-seat sofa · 200 cm (79 in) wide, 82 cm (32 in) high XL · 65 × 65 cm 25.6 × 25.6 in L · 50 × 50 cm 19.7 × 19.7 in
SizeWidth × height (in)Width × height (cm)Best for
L19.7 × 19.7″50 × 50 cmA prayer corner, or above a console
XL25.6 × 25.6″65 × 65 cmA main living-room wall, read from across the room

Mark it before you choose. Run painter's tape on the wall to the outer width and height, then stand back to where you normally sit and look at it from there. On a tall piece, hang it with its middle around 150 cm from the floor and the drop does the rest.

Craft

Three layers, not a printed panel

The calligraphy is laser cut from wood and topped with gold acrylic, then mounted on 4 mm red mirror tempered glass. The red ground is the reason to choose this one: it holds the gold warmer than a black mirror does.

  • The calligraphy laser cut from wood, then topped with gold acrylic
  • Mounted on 4 mm red mirror tempered glass, produced as one piece
  • Hand-painted, glued and assembled rather than pressed as one part

On the mirror ground. A mirrored glass ground reflects the room back around the calligraphy, so the piece changes with the light through the day where a matte panel does not. It also means what you clean is glass.

Hanging it

One nail, and one level line

Glass wants the hanger measured rather than guessed, and it wants carrying by the edges. Both take a minute.

  1. Lay it face down and find the hanger

Set it on a towel, face down, and measure from the top edge to the metal hanging part. That one number is the whole job.

  2. Pencil one level line

Mark a light horizontal line at hanger height, centered on the furniture below rather than on the wall as a whole.

  3. One nail, then lift by the edges

Set a single nail on the line. Carry the panel by its edges — never by the calligraphy — and hook it on.

  • Ships ready to hang; no frame, glass or backing board to fit

Where it goes

Where it goes

The prayer corner

The wall you face when you lay out the mat. A square centers a small wall without leaning tall or wide.

Above a console or a sideboard

A square sits comfortably over a run of furniture, where it reads as one block rather than a band.

A study or a reading wall

The smaller size holds a narrow wall beside a door or a bookcase, at standing eye level.

Care

Keeping it as it arrived

Dry cloth only

A soft, dry cloth on the glass face. Nothing abrasive, and nothing on the acrylic calligraphy.

No ammonia or alcohol

Household glass cleaner attacks both the paint behind the glass and the acrylic on it. A barely damp cloth, dried at once, is enough.

Lift it by the edges

An 4 mm sheet is heavy for its size and the calligraphy stands proud of the face. Carry it by the edges, never by the script.

Choose your size and finish

Two sizes, one construction. Tape the outline on the wall before you choose — 65 cm reads much larger on a wall than in a photograph.

Frequently Asked Questions

Al-Fatihah is the "Opening" to every spiritual endeavor. It contains the essence of all 114 Surahs: praise, worship, and the plea for guidance. Displaying it in your home is a statement of foundational faith—it serves as a constant reminder of our daily covenant with Allah and our dependence on His guidance along the 'Straight Path.'

The Prophet (PBUH) referred to Al-Fatihah as *Ash-Shifa* (The Cure). Having this sacred text visible encourages frequent recitation, which is believed to bring healing, spiritual protection, and 'Barakah' (blessing) to the household. It transforms a common living space into a sanctuary of remembrance.

Because it is the 'Opening,' it is exceptionally fitting for entryways, welcoming both residents and guests with the praise of Allah. It is also a popular centerpiece for main living rooms or prayer rooms (*Musallahs*), where its majestic script can anchor the spiritual focus of the entire family.

Given the length of the Surah, our designs often utilize a circular or teardrop composition in 'Thuluth' script. This allows the seven verses to flow harmoniously, creating a visual rhythm that represents the eternal nature of Divine praise. We also offer minimalist 'Kufic' versions for more modern, architectural spaces.

We use an intricate multi-layered 3D technique that gives the calligraphy physical depth. This allows the Arabic letters to interact with your room’s lighting; as the light shifts, the art casts soft shadows that give the sacred text a prominent and 'living' presence on your wall that flat prints cannot replicate.

The piece is treated with high-luster, specialized coatings—such as brushed gold, polished silver, or deep matte black. These finishes are anti-tarnish and moisture-resistant, ensuring that the regal appearance of the Surah remains pristine and vibrant for decades without fading or wear.

To preserve the premium textures and sharp edges of the 3D calligraphy, a simple wipe with a dry, soft microfiber cloth is sufficient. Avoiding chemical cleaners or moisture ensures that the specialized finish stays vivid and clear for the lifetime of the piece.

Gifting the 'Opening' is a symbolic gesture of wishing someone a blessed beginning. It is the most prestigious choice for a wedding or housewarming gift because it provides the recipient with the most fundamental chapter of the Qur'an, ensuring their new life or home is built upon a foundation of praise and guidance.

Yes. Each design features an integrated, hidden hanging system on the reverse side. This allows the piece to sit securely against the wall with a professional 'floating' look, keeping the focus entirely on the sacred calligraphy without visible or distracting hardware.

Our master designers in Turkey meticulously verify every vowel and 'harakat' (diacritical mark) to ensure 100% calligraphic accuracy. We bridge centuries of heritage with modern production standards to deliver a piece that is as spiritually sound as it is artistically superior.

Tempered glass is moisture-resistant, but the artwork or ink used may not be waterproof. It's best to keep the art indoors and away from direct exposure to rain or high humidity. If used in bathrooms, ensure it's in a well-ventilated area and securely mounted.

While tempered glass itself resists UV damage, the printed artwork may gradually fade if exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods. For longevity, it's recommended to place your wall art away from harsh, direct sunlight or use UV-protective window films.

Use a soft microfiber cloth and a mild glass cleaner. Spray the cleaner onto the cloth (not directly onto the glass) and gently wipe the surface. Avoid abrasive materials or strong chemicals, as they may scratch the glass or damage the artwork's finish.

Yes, tempered glass is significantly stronger and safer than regular glass. It is heat-resistant and designed to shatter into small, less dangerous pieces if broken. This makes it safe for use in various rooms, including kitchens and even children's rooms—though proper installation is essential.
