Surah Al-Fatiha

The opening surah, cut into a drop

Surah Al-Fatiha cut from metal into a teardrop silhouette, in two sizes — 48 × 67 cm or 69 × 96 cm — in a matte or a polished finish.

Three decisions before it ships

  1. Size

    Two sizes — 48 × 67 cm or 69 × 96 cm — drawn to scale against a sofa below.

  2. Finish

Seven finishes: black, matte gold, silver or copper, and gold, silver or copper polished.

  3. Hanging

It arrives ready to hang, so the work is the center line rather than the fixing.

What is written on it

The surah every prayer opens with

The seven verses recited at the start of every unit of prayer — the surah a Muslim says more often than any other.

“Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds. The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Master of the Day of Judgment. You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help. Guide us on the Straight Path—the path of those who have received Your grace, not the path of those who have brought Your anger upon themselves, nor of those who went astray.”

Surah Al-Fatiha 1:1–7

Size & scale

A drop is judged on the box it fills

A teardrop takes the full width and height of its box even though the corners are empty, so measure the box rather than the shape. Both sizes are drawn below at true scale above a three-seat sofa.

Three-seat sofa · 200 cm (79 in) wide, 82 cm (32 in) high XL · 69 × 96 cm 27.2 × 37.8 in L · 48 × 67 cm 18.9 × 26.4 in
SizeWidth × height (in)Width × height (cm)Best for
L18.9 × 26.4″48 × 67 cmA prayer corner, a landing, or above a console
XL27.2 × 37.8″69 × 96 cmA main living-room wall — the size most chosen

Mark it before you choose. Run painter's tape on the wall to the outer width and height, then stand back to where you normally sit and look at it from there. On a tall piece, hang it with its middle around 150 cm from the floor and the drop does the rest.

Craft

A whole surah in one cut

All seven verses are cut from a single sheet and held together by the drop outline itself, which is what lets the script run to the edge without a frame around it.

  • Seven verses cut from one sheet, held by the outline
  • Letterforms cut clean through, so the wall color becomes part of the artwork
  • Cut edges left clean through the fine strokes of the script
  • The weight and the edge of real metal rather than a printed panel

Why the cut matters. Because the script is cut out of the sheet rather than printed onto it, the wall behind becomes part of the artwork and the piece changes with the light in the room through the day.

Finishes

The finishes

Seven finishes. The matte options give the most uniform surface; the polished ones throw light back into the room.

Surah Fatiha drop design metal wall art in matte black

Matte Black

The most uniform surface of the set, and the one that holds its shape against a pale wall.

Surah Fatiha drop design metal wall art in matte copper

Matte Copper

The warmest of the matte finishes, and the one that reads best against green, clay or deep neutral walls.

Surah Fatiha drop design metal wall art in matte gold

Matte Gold

Warmth without shine, which suits a room lit mostly by lamps rather than daylight.

Surah Fatiha drop design metal wall art in matte silver

Matte Silver

Cool and quiet, and the easiest to place in a room that already has chrome or glass in it.

Surah Fatiha drop design metal wall art in shiny copper

Shiny Copper

Warmer than the gold and less common, and worth it if the room already has brass or wood tones.

Surah Fatiha drop design metal wall art in shiny gold

Shiny Gold

The most reflective of the set and the one most often chosen for a main living-room wall.

Surah Fatiha drop design metal wall art in shiny silver

Shiny Silver

Throws light back into the room, so it lifts a wall that sits away from a window.

Hanging it

One center line, and the drop does the rest

A drop has no straight top edge to level against, so mark its center about 150 cm from the floor and hang to that.

  1. Mark the center, not the top

Pencil a point about 150 cm up from the floor. On a tall piece the center line matters more than the top edge.

  2. Tape the outline first

Painter's tape to the full width and height lets you judge the position from where you normally sit.

  3. Hang and level

Hook it onto its fixing, slide it until it sits straight, then step back across the room to confirm.

  • Packed with corner protection for transit

Where it goes

The walls it was sized for

The prayer corner

The wall you face when you lay out the mat, at standing eye level rather than above it.

A hallway or landing

It reads on the way past, on a wall people walk by rather than sit in front of.

Above a console

A main living-room wall, centered on the furniture beneath rather than on the wall as a whole.

Care

Keeping it as it arrived

Dry cloth only

A soft, dry cloth along the length of the script. Nothing abrasive.

No cleaners

Alcohol, glass cleaner and polish will mark a finished metal surface. A barely damp cloth, dried at once, is enough.

Away from damp

An indoor piece. Keep it off bathroom walls and away from a kitchen extractor.

Choose your size and finish

Two sizes, and the finish is the rest of the decision. Tape the outline on the wall first — it is the only measurement that matters.

Frequently Asked Questions

Al-Fatihah is the "Opening" to every spiritual endeavor. It contains the essence of all 114 Surahs: praise, worship, and the plea for guidance. Displaying it in your home is a statement of foundational faith—it serves as a constant reminder of our daily covenant with Allah and our dependence on His guidance along the 'Straight Path.'

The Prophet (PBUH) referred to Al-Fatihah as *Ash-Shifa* (The Cure). Having this sacred text visible encourages frequent recitation, which is believed to bring healing, spiritual protection, and 'Barakah' (blessing) to the household. It transforms a common living space into a sanctuary of remembrance.

Because it is the 'Opening,' it is exceptionally fitting for entryways, welcoming both residents and guests with the praise of Allah. It is also a popular centerpiece for main living rooms or prayer rooms (*Musallahs*), where its majestic script can anchor the spiritual focus of the entire family.

Given the length of the Surah, our designs often utilize a circular or teardrop composition in 'Thuluth' script. This allows the seven verses to flow harmoniously, creating a visual rhythm that represents the eternal nature of Divine praise. We also offer minimalist 'Kufic' versions for more modern, architectural spaces.

We use an intricate multi-layered 3D technique that gives the calligraphy physical depth. This allows the Arabic letters to interact with your room’s lighting; as the light shifts, the art casts soft shadows that give the sacred text a prominent and 'living' presence on your wall that flat prints cannot replicate.

The piece is treated with high-luster, specialized coatings—such as brushed gold, polished silver, or deep matte black. These finishes are anti-tarnish and moisture-resistant, ensuring that the regal appearance of the Surah remains pristine and vibrant for decades without fading or wear.

To preserve the premium textures and sharp edges of the 3D calligraphy, a simple wipe with a dry, soft microfiber cloth is sufficient. Avoiding chemical cleaners or moisture ensures that the specialized finish stays vivid and clear for the lifetime of the piece.

Gifting the 'Opening' is a symbolic gesture of wishing someone a blessed beginning. It is the most prestigious choice for a wedding or housewarming gift because it provides the recipient with the most fundamental chapter of the Qur'an, ensuring their new life or home is built upon a foundation of praise and guidance.

Yes. Each design features an integrated, hidden hanging system on the reverse side. This allows the piece to sit securely against the wall with a professional 'floating' look, keeping the focus entirely on the sacred calligraphy without visible or distracting hardware.

Our master designers in Turkey meticulously verify every vowel and 'harakat' (diacritical mark) to ensure 100% calligraphic accuracy. We bridge centuries of heritage with modern production standards to deliver a piece that is as spiritually sound as it is artistically superior.

The screws in the metal wall art are for the hanging bracket on the back and for the blind feet to provide a 3D view. Never attempt to remove them.

Metal products can be used outdoors, but are not recommended for direct rain, moisture or sunlight.

Yes, it can be done. First, confirm with customer service whether this is possible. If our designer approves, you will receive a custom order payment link.

Our products are made by hand, using labor-intensive techniques. Some minor defects are within the limits, and we indicate this in the listing details. If you detect a defect that exceeds the limits, contact customer service.

It will not darken unless exposed to moisture in normal indoor environments. We do not recommend protecting it from moisture or exposure to rain or direct sunlight outdoors.

We do not recommend any chemical products. You can remove dust with a slightly damp cloth.
