"Allah! There is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth. His Kursi (Throne) extends over the heavens and the earth, and preserving them does not tire Him. He is the Most High, the Most Great."

The verse of the Throne, cut into a tulip and lifted off the wall

An inner script and an outer tulip outline, cut separately from 1.5 mm metal and finished apart, then layered so the piece stands 1.5 cm clear of the wall instead of lying flat against it. That gap is the whole design: it puts a shadow behind the calligraphy that moves as the light does.

Cut metal reads smaller on a wall than it does in a photograph

The letterforms are cut clean through, so the wall shows between them and the piece carries less visual weight than a solid panel of the same size. Both sizes are nested below at true scale, above a three-seat sofa.

Mark it before you choose. Run painter's tape on the wall to the outer width and height, then stand back to where you normally sit and look at it from there. On a tall, narrow piece the centre line matters more than the top edge — hang it with its middle around 150 cm from the floor and the XL runs from just above a sofa back up to head height.

Craft

The depth is structural, not printed

Two parts, cut from the same 1.5 mm sheet and layered rather than stacked flat. Because they are finished separately before assembly, each can carry a different metal — which is where the two-tone options come from.

On the shiny finishes. The shine comes from a static paint laid over real metal, not from a printed or laminated surface. Up close you may find faint variation across a large panel. Hanging it

One nail, and the centre line is what matters

The two parts arrive layered and assembled, so this hangs as a single object from one bracket on the back. There is no alignment to get right and nothing to fit.

  1. Mark the centre, not the top

    Pencil a point about 150 cm up from the floor. On a piece this tall and narrow, a centre that sits right forgives a top edge that does not.

  2. Tape the outline first

    Painter's tape to the full width and height lets you check the position from across the room without making a single hole.

  3. Set one nail and hang

A soft, dry microfibre cloth. Lift it by the edges when you move it — a shiny surface shows fingerprints more readily than a matte one.

No cleaners

Alcohol, glass cleaner and polish will cut into a painted metal surface. If a mark will not lift dry, use a barely damp cloth and dry it at once.
