Translation of Ayatul Kursi:

"Allah! There is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth. His Kursi (Throne) extends over the heavens and the earth, and preserving them does not tire Him. He is the Most High, the Most Great."

The verse of the Throne, cut from steel in two pieces

An inner calligraphic disc and an outer ring, each cut separately and finished by hand, then hung together so the whole verse reads as one circle. The two-part build is what lets the piece stand 1.5 cm off the wall and cast its own shadow.

Cut-metal work is open — the wall shows through it — so it occupies less visual weight than a solid canvas of the same dimensions. The three sizes are nested below at true scale, above a three-seat sofa.

Mark it before you choose. Run painter's tape on the wall to the outer width and height, stand back to where you normally sit, and look at it from there. Most people who wish they had gone larger were measuring with their eyes from a metre away.

Craft

Polished by hand, and honest about it

Each piece is cut from sheet steel, brushed along the grain, then brought to its shine through a chemical polishing bath rather than a sprayed coating. That is why the reflection has depth instead of looking like chrome paint.

On the shiny finishes. Because the polishing is a hand-run chemical process on real metal, a shiny piece is not flawless — you may find faint variation in the surface up close. It does not show at viewing distance, and it is the trade-off that comes with a polished metal surface rather than a printed one. If you want the most uniform surface, choose a black outer ring.

The inner disc and the outer ring are specified separately: gold inside with silver outside, silver inside with gold outside, either metal inside with a black ring, or all gold or all silver throughout.

Hanging two pieces

Line them up in one measurement, not two

This is the step people get wrong, and it is worth five minutes. Each part hangs from a single bracket on its back, so the whole job is getting both nails onto one shared centre line.

Lay it on the floor first

Assemble the two parts flat, exactly as they should look on the wall. Measure from the top of the outer ring down to each bracket and write both numbers down.
Draw one vertical centre line

Pencil a light plumb line on the wall. Both nails sit on it, at the two depths you just measured — this is what keeps the disc centred inside the ring.
Hang the outer ring first

Get the ring level, then drop the inner disc onto its nail and adjust. Painter's tape on the wall before you drill lets you check the position without a single hole.

This beautiful piece came earlier than expected. Just in time before all my Ramadan/Iftar parties. It was packed with so much care. It’s an aesthetic piece of art which makes my living room look even more beautiful. I decorated my house for Ramadan and this piece is a perfect addition. Only feedback is, the bottom part doesn’t stay close to the wall. Not sure how to stick it to the wall. In addition, screws on the top can be made smaller and less visible. Other than that, its perfect Masha’Allah

I liked this metal piece, but I was expecting it to be bigger especially for its price. I also did not like how it didn’t sit right on the wall there is a part where it doesn’t sit evenly against the wall. Other than that the quality is nice and it’s a very sturdy piece of work!
