The Second Kalima

The Shahada, cut into a circle

Ashhadu an la ilaha illallah cut from 1.5 mm powder-painted steel as a full circle, 47, 69 or 90 cm across, standing 1.5 cm off the wall.

Three decisions before it ships

  1. Size

Three circles, 47 to 90 cm across, drawn to scale against a sofa below.

  2. Finish

Four matte colors in a powder paint.

  3. Hanging

It ships ready, and the bracket holds it 1.5 cm off the wall.

What is written on it

The Second Kalima

The testimony itself — I bear witness. Set around a circle it reads as one continuous line, with no first word and no last.

أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسولُ اللَّهِ

Ashhadu an la ilaha illallah wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan rasulullah.

“I bear witness that there is no deity but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.”

Size & scale

A circle is judged on its diameter, not its corners

A round piece reads smaller on a wall than a square of the same width, because it has no corners to fill. All three are drawn below at true scale above a three-seat sofa.

Three-seat sofa · 200 cm (79 in) wide, 82 cm (32 in) high 2XL · 90 × 90 cm 35.4 × 35.4 in XL · 69 × 69 cm 27.2 × 27.2 in L · 47 × 47 cm 18.5 × 18.5 in
SizeWidth × height (in)Width × height (cm)Best for
L18.5 × 18.5″47 × 47 cmA prayer corner, a study, or a narrow wall beside a door
XL27.2 × 27.2″69 × 69 cmAbove a console or a two-seat sofa — the size most chosen
2XL35.4 × 35.4″90 × 90 cmA main living-room wall, read from across the room

Mark it before you choose. Run painter's tape on the wall to the outer width and height, then stand back to where you normally sit and look at it from there. On a tall piece, hang it with its middle around 150 cm from the floor and the drop does the rest.

Craft

The depth is structural, not printed

The script is cut clean through the disc, so the wall color fills the letterforms. Powder paint is baked on rather than sprayed, which keeps a matte surface even across a 90 cm circle.

  • Cut from steel, then powder painted and baked
  • Letterforms cut clean through, so the wall color becomes part of the artwork
  • Electrostatic powder coating, baked on for a hard, even surface
  • No odour and no harmful substances

A coating that is baked, not sprayed. Powder is applied electrostatically and then cured, which gives a harder and more even surface than a sprayed paint and holds its color without yellowing.

Finishes

The finishes

Four matte colors in the same powder paint. Black reads as a silhouette on a pale wall; gold and copper warm a lamp-lit room; silver stays cool.

Second Kalima circular metal wall decor in black

Black

The sharpest contrast of the set against a pale wall, and the one that reads most clearly from across a room.

Second Kalima circular metal wall decor in matte gold

Matte Gold

Powder coated. Warmth without shine, which suits a room lit mostly by lamps rather than daylight.

Second Kalima circular metal wall decor in matte silver

Matte Silver

Powder coated. Cool and quiet, and the easiest to place in a room that already has chrome or glass in it.

Second Kalima circular metal wall decor in matte copper

Matte Copper

Powder coated. The warmest of the matte finishes, and the one that reads best against green, clay or deep neutral walls.

Hanging it

One fixing, and the center matters

A circle has no top edge to level against, which makes it forgiving — but it does need its center put where you want it.

  1. Mark the center, not the top

Pencil a point about 150 cm up from the floor. On a tall, narrow piece a center that sits right forgives a top edge that does not.

  2. Tape the outline first

Painter's tape to the full width and height lets you check the position from across the room before you make a hole.

  3. Set one nail and hang

One nail carries it through the bracket on the back. Hook it on, level it by eye, then walk to the far side of the room to confirm.

  • Packed with corner protection for transit

Where it goes

Where it goes

The prayer corner

The wall you face when you lay out the mat, where a single piece is read rather than looked at.

Above a console or a sideboard

It sits over a run of furniture as one object, without needing a second piece to balance it.

A hallway or a study wall

One piece suits the wall you pass or sit facing, where a set would be too much.

Against the alternatives

This pieceCommonly sold alternatives

SizesThree, up to 90 cm wideOften a single fixed size
The textThe Shahada as one continuous ringOften an excerpt rather than the whole text

Care

Keeping it as it arrived

Dry cloth only

A soft, dry cloth along the length of the script. A baked powder coat is harder than sprayed paint and takes dusting well.

No solvents

Alcohol, glass cleaner and polish will dull a matte surface. If a mark will not lift dry, use a barely damp cloth and dry it at once.

Damp resistant

The powder coat handles humidity better than a painted finish. Give it an indoor wall away from a bathroom or a kitchen extractor.

Choose your size and finish

Three sizes, and the finish is the rest of the decision. Tape the outline on the wall first — it is the only measurement that matters.

Frequently Asked Questions

The First Kalima is the 'Key to Jannah.' Scholars from the Islamic Bulletin note that its presence in a home creates an environment of 'Tawhid' (Oneness). It acts as a spiritual anchor, reminding the residents to align every action with the pleasure of Allah and the example of the Prophet (PBUH).

Yes, it is highly encouraged as a form of 'Dhikr' (remembrance). The key is 'Adab' (etiquette): it must be placed in a clean, elevated position, typically above eye level. It should never be placed near floors, in bathrooms, or in areas where it might be treated with disrespect.

No. Our metal pieces undergo a premium electro-coating process in Turkey. This industrial-grade finish creates a chemical bond that is rust-resistant and tarnish-proof. Whether you choose Gold, Silver, or Black, the finish is designed to maintain its brilliant, mirror-like luster for decades.

The most traditional and respectful locations are the living room foyer or a dedicated prayer space (Musallah). Hanging it near the entrance of the home is a powerful way to set the spiritual tone for everyone who enters, reminding them of the foundation of their faith.

Accuracy is treated as a sacred 'Amanah' (trust). Every piece is designed in Turkey and cross-referenced with the Uthmani. Master calligraphers meticulously verify every 'Nuqta' (dot) and 'Haraka' (vowel mark) to ensure the divine words are perfectly preserved.

Our wood art offers a warm, 3D organic feel that brings a traditional aesthetic. Our metal art features a sleek, high-end finish with industrial durability. Both materials are handcrafted in our Turkish workshop to ensure museum-quality standards.

Yes, it is common to hang it in a bedroom as a source of peace and a reminder to make the Kalima one's final thought before sleep. Ensure it is mounted securely and high on the wall to maintain the respect due to the declaration of faith.

Treat the art with the same respect as a Mushaf. We recommend using a soft, dry microfiber cloth to gently remove dust. Avoid water or chemical cleaners, as they are unnecessary for our premium finishes and could potentially dull the luster over time.

Our metal art is engineered to be sturdy yet lightweight. Most pieces are designed to be hung with a single nail. They often feature built-in spacers that allow the art to sit 1.5 cm away from the wall, creating a beautiful 3D shadow effect that adds depth to the script.

Turkey is the historical heart of Islamic calligraphy. By manufacturing in our Turkish workshop, we employ craftsmen who have inherited centuries of artistic tradition. This ensures that the proportions of every letter are aesthetically and scripturally perfect, a quality mass-produced items cannot match.

The screws in the metal wall art are for the hanging bracket on the back and for the blind feet to provide a 3D view. Never attempt to remove them.
