Returns

We have a 30-day return policy, which means you have 30 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

How long it is, and how it sits

6 mm beads, so the loop runs about 64.4 cm and hangs about 32.2 cm folded. The strand is drawn below doubled, the way it hangs, with the arithmetic beside it.

Where the length comes from. None of these is sold by its length, so the length here is the sum rather than a measurement: 99 beads of the stated diameter, plus a standard imame at the fold. Lay it flat against a ruler and it is the number you get.

  • Cut and polished from natural stone, so no two beads carry exactly the same figure
  • Graded to one diameter down the strand, which is what keeps the count even under the thumb
  • Strung on a single cord with the imame at the fold

Why the beads do not match. Stone is quarried, not moulded. Color and figure shift from bead to bead along a strand, and a little between one strand and the next — that variation is the material telling you what it is.

Using it

The first weeks

A new strand is stiff and a new cord is tight. Both settle with use — these three habits are what let them.

  1. Run it through once, slowly

    Take the whole loop through the fingers a few times before the first dhikr. A new strand sits tight on the cord and this is what opens the spacing out.

  2. Let it find the imame

    The imame at the fold is the marker you feel for. After a week of use the thumb finds it without counting up to it, which is the point of it being a different shape.

  3. Carry it loose, not knotted

    A pocket or a bag rather than wound tight around a wrist or a hook. A cord under constant tension is the one thing that shortens a strand’s life.
