Mark it before you choose. Run painter's tape on the wall to the outer width and height, then stand back to where you normally sit and look at it from there. On a tall piece, hang it with its middle around 150 cm from the floor and the drop does the rest.

The Kufic letterforms are cut clean through the metal, so the wall color fills the counters of the script. Mounted 2 cm proud, the gap throws a shadow that changes through the day.

    Pencil a point about 150 cm up from the floor. On a tall, narrow piece a center that sits right forgives a top edge that does not.
