Kalima Tawheed, in Kufic

Calligraphy and hours cut into one metal face

Kalima Tawheed, in Kufic cut into one metal face. Made in one size, 43 × 43 cm.

Two decisions before it ships

  1. Size

Made in one size, 43 × 43 cm, drawn to scale against a sofa below.

  2. Hanging

It arrives ready to use, so the only job is the nail and the time.

What is written on it

The words on the face

The first of the six kalimas, set in the square Kufic hand that suits a circle better than a flowing script does.

لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللهِ

“There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.”

The First Kalima

Size & scale

Made in one size, 43 × 43 cm

One size only, 43 cm across. A clock is judged on whether the hands read from where you stand, so it is drawn below at true scale above a three-seat sofa.

Three-seat sofa · 200 cm (79 in) wide, 82 cm (32 in) high One size · 43 × 43 cm 16.9 × 16.9 in
SizeWidth × height (in)Width × height (cm)Best for
One size16.9 × 16.9″43 × 43 cmA kitchen, dining or hallway wall — the size most chosen

Mark it before you choose. Run painter's tape on the wall to the outer width and height, then stand back to where you normally sit and look at it from there. On a tall piece, hang it with its middle around 150 cm from the floor and the drop does the rest.

Craft

One cut face, with the movement behind it

The calligraphy and the hour marks are cut into one metal face, with the movement fitted behind it. Nothing is printed on a dial and there is no glass in front.

  • One cut metal face, with the movement behind it
  • A cut metal face, produced as one piece
  • A quartz movement fitted behind the face
  • Ready to use on delivery, with the hands already set on

On the face. The calligraphy and the hour marks are cut into one metal face rather than printed on a dial behind glass, so the wall shows through the cut and the piece reads as wall art first.

Hanging it

One nail, and set the time first

Everything about hanging a clock is easy except reaching behind it afterwards, which is what the three steps are about.

  1. Pick the wall by where you look for the time

A clock is read from a doorway or a seat, not admired from across the room. Stand where you will actually look at it and choose that wall.

  2. One nail at hanger height

Measure from the top of the face to the fixing on the back, mark a light pencil line at that height, and set one nail on it.

  3. Set the hands before you hang it

Set the time with the piece face up on a table, then hang it. Reaching behind a mounted clock is how a hand gets bent.

Where it goes

Where it goes

A kitchen or a dining wall

The room a clock is checked in most, and the one where a piece this size still has a wall to itself.

A hallway or an entry

Read on the way out, which is the moment the time actually matters.

A study or an office wall

Behind the desk rather than in front of it, so it is glanced at rather than watched.

Against the alternatives

This pieceCommonly sold alternatives
MaterialCut metal, with the movement behindPrinted canvas, acrylic sheet, or thin laser-cut board
The textA Kufic composition, squared into the circleOften an excerpt rather than the whole text

Care

Keeping it as it arrived

Dry cloth only

A soft, dry cloth on the face. Nothing abrasive.

No cleaners

Alcohol, glass cleaner and polish mark a finished metal surface, and none of them belong near a movement.

Lift it by the rim

Carry it by the edge of the face rather than by the hands.

Choose your size and finish

One size, one movement. Check the distance you will read it from before you order — 43 cm is bigger on a wall than in a photograph.

Frequently Asked Questions

The First Kalima is the 'Key to Jannah.' Scholars from the Islamic Bulletin note that its presence in a home creates an environment of 'Tawhid' (Oneness). It acts as a spiritual anchor, reminding the residents to align every action with the pleasure of Allah and the example of the Prophet (PBUH).

Yes, it is highly encouraged as a form of 'Dhikr' (remembrance). The key is 'Adab' (etiquette): it must be placed in a clean, elevated position, typically above eye level. It should never be placed near floors, in bathrooms, or in areas where it might be treated with disrespect.

No. Our metal pieces undergo a premium electro-coating process in Turkey. This industrial-grade finish creates a chemical bond that is rust-resistant and tarnish-proof. Whether you choose Gold, Silver, or Black, the finish is designed to maintain its brilliant, mirror-like luster for decades.

The most traditional and respectful locations are the living room foyer or a dedicated prayer space (Musallah). Hanging it near the entrance of the home is a powerful way to set the spiritual tone for everyone who enters, reminding them of the foundation of their faith.

Accuracy is treated as a sacred 'Amanah' (trust). Every piece is designed in Turkey and cross-referenced with the Uthmani. Master calligraphers meticulously verify every 'Nuqta' (dot) and 'Haraka' (vowel mark) to ensure the divine words are perfectly preserved.

Our wood art offers a warm, 3D organic feel that brings a traditional aesthetic. Our metal art features a sleek, high-end finish with industrial durability. Both materials are handcrafted in our Turkish workshop to ensure museum-quality standards.

Yes, it is common to hang it in a bedroom as a source of peace and a reminder to make the Kalima one's final thought before sleep. Ensure it is mounted securely and high on the wall to maintain the respect due to the declaration of faith.

Treat the art with the same respect as a Mushaf. We recommend using a soft, dry microfiber cloth to gently remove dust. Avoid water or chemical cleaners, as they are unnecessary for our premium finishes and could potentially dull the luster over time.

Our metal art is engineered to be sturdy yet lightweight. Most pieces are designed to be hung with a single nail. They often feature built-in spacers that allow the art to sit 1.5 cm away from the wall, creating a beautiful 3D shadow effect that adds depth to the script.

Turkey is the historical heart of Islamic calligraphy. By manufacturing in our Turkish workshop, we employ craftsmen who have inherited centuries of artistic tradition. This ensures that the proportions of every letter are aesthetically and scripturally perfect, a quality mass-produced items cannot match.

Our Islamic Clock Wall Decors are makde out of either metal or wood, depending on the design.

Our Islamic Clocks work with a battery installed on the backside, which you may easily replace if it runs out.

We use silent mechanisms for our products to provide out customers with the best experience possible.

Definitely! Our products could be hung easily with the hanging attachments on the backside without any hassle.
