"Allah! There is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great."

Mark it before you choose. Run painter's tape on the wall to the outer width and height, then stand back to where you normally sit and look at it from there. On a tall piece, hang it with its middle around 150 cm from the floor and the drop does the rest.

Tezhip is painted illumination, so this one is printed rather than cut: the border keeps its color and detail, and the steel behind it keeps the disc flat and heavy on the wall.

Why printing, and not a cut. Tezhip is illumination — layered color and gold leaf. A cut sheet can only give you an outline of it, so the pattern is printed at full detail and the steel gives the piece its weight.

Three screws, one line

A circle has no top edge to level against, so mark the center first, then set the three screws to the bracket spacing on the back.

  1. Find the center, not the top

    A circle has no top edge to level against, so mark the center point on the wall — about 150 cm up — and hang to that.

  2. Tape the diameter first

    Painter's tape across the full width shows how much wall it will take. A circle reads larger than a rectangle of the same width.

  3. Hang and step back

    Hook it on, then walk to the far side of the room. A circle sitting slightly off-center shows more than a rectangle hung slightly crooked.

A soft, dry cloth along the length of the script. Lift the piece by its edges when you move it.

Alcohol, glass cleaner and polish will cut into a printed surface. A barely damp cloth, dried straight away, lifts anything a dry cloth will not.
