The Basmala and the four Quls

Five pieces of Kufic, cut to resolve into one square

The Basmala with Al-Kafirun, Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq and An-Nas, cut in Kufic across acrylic and wood. Square at every size, from 70 to 150 cm across.

Three decisions before it ships

  1. Size

Four square sizes, 70 to 150 cm across, drawn to scale against a sofa below.

  2. Finish

Three finishes — gold or silver acrylic, or black paint.

  3. Hanging

A set rather than one panel, so it wants a single shared line. It ships ready to hang.

What is written on it

The Basmala, opening the four Quls

The Basmala sits at the head of the set with the four short surahs arranged around it. Kufic is the squared, architectural hand — which is what lets the whole composition resolve into a square.

بِسْمِ ﷲِالرَّحْمَنِ اارَّحِيم

“In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.”

The Basmala, which heads the set

Size & scale

A square set is judged on its total footprint

What matters is the outline the five pieces occupy together, not any single panel. All four sizes are drawn below at true scale above a three-seat sofa.

Three-seat sofa · 200 cm (79 in) wide, 82 cm (32 in) high XL · 150 × 150 cm 59.1 × 59.1 in L · 120 × 120 cm 47.2 × 47.2 in M · 90 × 90 cm 35.4 × 35.4 in S · 70 × 70 cm 27.6 × 27.6 in
SizeWidth × height (in)Width × height (cm)Best for
S27.6 × 27.6″70 × 70 cmA study, a landing, or a narrow alcove
M35.4 × 35.4″90 × 90 cmAbove a console or a two-seat sofa
L47.2 × 47.2″120 × 120 cmA main living-room wall above a three-seat sofa
XL59.1 × 59.1″150 × 150 cmA full feature wall, read from across an open-plan room

Tape the whole outline first. A set needs its total footprint marked, not each piece measured — run painter's tape around the full width and height, stand back to where you normally sit, and judge it from there.

Craft

Wood behind, acrylic in front

Each piece is 6 mm MDF with a 1.2 mm acrylic face layered over it, so the script stands forward of the panel it sits on. Kufic squares off every stroke, which is why the set reads as architecture rather than handwriting.

  • Kufic squared script, which is what lets the set close into a true square
  • Cut and layered so the calligraphy sits forward of the panel behind it
  • Wood and acrylic combined, each carrying its own depth and grain
  • Edges finished clean, with no visible fixings on the face

On wood and acrylic. Layering the two materials is what gives the piece its depth: the acrylic carries the line of the calligraphy and the wood behind it gives the panel warmth and weight.

Finishes

The finishes

Three finishes. Gold and silver are acrylic faces over the wood; black is painted, and holds the most uniform surface.

Basmala and four Quls Kufic wooden wall art set in gold

Gold

Warm and bright, and the one that reads best against off-white and cream walls.

Basmala and four Quls Kufic wooden wall art set in silver

Silver

Cool and quiet, and the easiest to place in a room that already has chrome or glass in it.

Basmala and four Quls Kufic wooden wall art set in black

Black

The sharpest contrast of the set against a pale wall, and the one that reads most clearly from across a room.

Hanging it

One line, then work outward from the Basmala

Five pieces read as one square only if they share a line and even gaps, so the layout is worth doing on the floor first.

  1. Lay the set out on the floor

Arrange every piece exactly as it should read on the wall, with even gaps, then measure the total width and the distance to each fixing.

  2. Mark one shared line

Pencil a single level line on the wall and put every fixing on it. That is what keeps the pieces reading as one composition.

  3. Tape the outline, then work across

Painter's tape to the full outline lets you check the whole arrangement before drilling. Hang from one end and work across, checking each piece against the line.

  • Ships ready to hang; no frame, glass or backing board to fit
  • Packed with corner protection for transit

Where it goes

Where it goes

Above the sofa

The wall this was designed for, spanning roughly two thirds of the seat beneath it.

Dining and console walls

A long, low piece sits naturally over a sideboard or a dining table, where a tall piece would crowd the ceiling.

Entryway and hallway

Cut work keeps a corridor from feeling closed in, because the wall reads through the letterforms.

Care

Keeping it as it arrived

Dry cloth only

A soft, dry cloth. Wood and acrylic both mark with abrasives, so nothing scouring.

No solvents

Alcohol and glass cleaner will haze acrylic. If a mark will not lift dry, use a barely damp cloth and dry it at once.

Away from damp and direct sun

Wood moves with humidity and acrylic can warm in direct sunlight, so give it an interior wall out of the midday light.

Choose your size and finish

Four sizes and three finishes. Tape the full square on the wall first — the total outline is the only measurement that matters.

Frequently Asked Questions

Hanging Quranic verses like the 4 Quls is entirely permissible and encouraged in Islamic tradition as a means of remembrance (Dhikr) and protection. These verses serve as a constant visual reminder of Allah's oneness and power, helping to keep the heart connected to the Divine. Scholars from major institutions often cite that such displays are beneficial as long as the verses are treated with the utmost respect and are not used as mere amulets with superstitious beliefs.

This combination represents a powerful "spiritual shield" for the home. Surah Al-Kafirun affirms pure monotheism, Surah Al-Ikhlas defines Allah's nature, and Surahs Al-Falaq and An-Nas seek refuge from external and internal evils. When paired with Ayatul Kursi, which is known as the most powerful verse in the Quran for protection, this collection creates a sanctuary of peace and divine guardianship within your living space.

The most respectful placement is in a clean, elevated area where the verses can be easily seen and read. Common locations include the living room, entryway, or a dedicated prayer space. It is highly recommended to avoid hanging them in bathrooms or low areas where they might be touched by feet. Placing them facing the Qibla or in a central gathering area ensures they serve their purpose as a focal point for remembrance.

No, it is not disrespectful provided the intention is for Dhikr and honoring the word of Allah. Our art is designed with deep reverence for the scriptural content, using high-quality materials to reflect the beauty of the message. The goal is to elevate the atmosphere of a Muslim home and inspire the inhabitants to recite these verses daily.

Electro-coating is a premium industrial process where the finish is bonded to the metal via an electric current. Unlike standard paint or polished stainless steel, this creates a uniform, durable, and rust-resistant layer that will not peel or flake over time. It provides a rich, matte or glossy texture that enhances the intricate Arabic calligraphy, ensuring the art remains pristine for decades.

Our finishes are specifically engineered to resist fading and oxidation. Because our production in Turkey utilizes advanced coating technologies, the gold and silver tones remain vibrant even in humid environments. Unlike cheap alternatives that use spray paint, our premium finishes are designed to withstand the test of time without losing their luster.

You should handle the art with wudu (ritual purity) as a sign of respect, though it is not strictly required for metal or wood art without direct contact with the mushaf. Wrap each piece in a clean, soft cloth or bubble wrap to prevent scratching. Always ensure the art is placed at the top of your moving boxes so that no other objects are resting above the word of Allah.

Metal art requires a specialized 5 to 6 day production window to ensure the laser cutting and electro-coating meet our quality standards. Once your piece passes inspection in Turkey, shipping takes approximately 3 to 5 business days. You can typically expect this sacred addition to your home within two weeks of placing your order.

Absolutely. Hanging the 4 Quls and Ayatul Kursi in a child's room is a beautiful way to introduce them to the concept of seeking refuge in Allah from a young age. It serves as a visual comfort and a prompt for parents to recite the evening Adhkar with their children, fostering a home environment filled with Barakah and light.

The choice depends on your aesthetic and timeline. Our wood pieces offer a warm, traditional feel and have a faster production time of 2 to 3 days. Our metal pieces provide a modern, sleek look with high durability and a three-dimensional effect when hung. Both options are crafted with the same expert precision and devotion to calligraphic accuracy.

Black painted, Gold Acrylic and Silver Acrylic

The wall art pieces are crafted from high-quality materials, including laser-cut MDF wood and acrylic. To maintain their appearance, avoid using water, alcohol, or chemicals. Clean the surfaces with a dry, soft cloth to preserve the finish. These materials ensure durability and a premium look suitable for long-term display.

Yes, all wall art pieces come fully assembled and ready to hang. They include pre-installed hanging hardware or nails or double-sided tapes for easy installation.

We do not recommend any chemical products. You can remove dust with a slightly damp cloth.
