Due to the nature of the metal, the varnish, and the handmade process in which the décor is being polished through a chemical procedure, the décor is not impeccable and it is not always possible to achieve the exact same color in all products. However, this does not affect the overall fine appearance of the artworks.

The First Kalima

The declaration as one long line, polished

The First Kalima cut from 2 mm metal and polished rather than painted, 65 or 99 cm wide, standing 2 cm clear of the wall.

Three decisions before it ships

  1. Size

Two lengths — 65 or 99 cm — drawn to scale against a sofa below.

  2. Finish

Three polished tones — gold, silver or copper.

  3. Hanging

One nail through the bracket already fitted to the back. It arrives ready to hang.

What is written on it

The words that make the declaration

La ilaha illa Allah, Muhammadur Rasul Allah — the sentence a Muslim begins from. Cut as one continuous line, it reads at a glance rather than asking to be studied.

لَا إِلَّهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ

La ilaha illallah Muhammadur Rasulullah.

“There is no deity but Allah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.”

The First Kalima (Tawheed)

Size & scale

A long line is judged against the furniture

Both lengths are around four times wider than they are tall, so these sit above a doorway, a console or a shelf rather than filling a wall. Drawn below at true scale above a three-seat sofa.

Three-seat sofa · 200 cm (79 in) wide, 82 cm (32 in) high L · 99 × 24 cm 39 × 9.4 in M · 65 × 16 cm 25.6 × 6.3 in
SizeWidth × height (in)Width × height (cm)Best for
M25.6 × 6.3″65 × 16 cmAbove a doorway, a shelf, or a narrow console
L39 × 9.4″99 × 24 cmAbove a two- or three-seat sofa — the length most chosen

Match it to the furniture, not the wall. A low horizontal piece looks right when it spans roughly two thirds of whatever sits beneath it. Run painter's tape to the full width first and look at it from where you normally sit.

Craft

Polished, not painted

At 2 mm the sheet is heavy enough to hold a long line without flexing, and the tone comes from polishing the metal itself rather than coating it — which is why it throws light back into the room. Mounted 2 cm proud, the script carries its own shadow.

  • 2 mm metal, polished to tone rather than painted
  • Letterforms cut clean through, so the wall color becomes part of the artwork
  • Brushed along the grain, then brought to its shine in a polishing bath
  • A reflection with depth rather than the flat look of a sprayed coating

On the shiny finishes. The shine is polished onto real metal rather than sprayed on, so the reflection carries depth. Because the polishing is a hand-run stage, each piece has its own character in the surface.

Finishes

The finishes

Three polished tones. Each is the metal finished to that color, so the surface carries the light of the room rather than a flat pigment.

First Kalima shiny metal islamic wall art in shiny gold

Shiny Gold

Brushed and electropolished. The most reflective of the set and the one most often chosen for a main living-room wall.

First Kalima shiny metal islamic wall art in shiny silver

Shiny Silver

Brushed and electropolished. Throws light back into the room, so it lifts a wall that sits away from a window.

First Kalima shiny metal islamic wall art in shiny copper

Shiny Copper

Brushed and electropolished. Warmer than the gold and less common, and worth it if the room already has brass or wood tones.

Hanging it

One level line, and the length looks after itself

A long horizontal shows every degree of tilt, so mark the line rather than judging it by eye. One nail through the bracket carries it.

  1. Lay it down and measure to the bracket

Set it face up and measure from the left edge to the bracket. That single number is the whole job.

  2. Pencil one level line

Mark a light horizontal line at bracket height, centered on the furniture below rather than on the wall as a whole.

  3. Tape the width, then hang

Painter's tape to the full width shows you the position from across the room. Hang it and check it against the line.

  • Mounting bracket already fitted to the back
  • Packed with corner protection for transit

Where it goes

The walls a long line suits

By the front door

The wall you pass on the way in and out — which is the point of the words on it.

Hallway and landing

A long, low piece suits a corridor, where it reads on the way past rather than asking you to stop.

Above a console

It spans a hallway console without crowding the ceiling above it.

Care

Keeping it as it arrived

Along the grain

A soft, dry microfibre cloth moving in the direction of the brushing. Lift it by the edges when you move it.

No cleaners

Alcohol, glass cleaner and polish will cut into a polished metal surface. A barely damp cloth, dried at once, lifts anything a dry cloth will not.

Away from damp

An indoor piece. Keep it off bathroom walls and away from a kitchen extractor, where steady humidity dulls a polished finish.

Choose your size and finish

Two sizes, and the finish is the rest of the decision. Tape the width on the wall first — it is the only measurement that matters.

Frequently Asked Questions

The First Kalima is the 'Key to Jannah.' Scholars from the Islamic Bulletin note that its presence in a home creates an environment of 'Tawhid' (Oneness). It acts as a spiritual anchor, reminding the residents to align every action with the pleasure of Allah and the example of the Prophet (PBUH).

Yes, it is highly encouraged as a form of 'Dhikr' (remembrance). The key is 'Adab' (etiquette): it must be placed in a clean, elevated position, typically above eye level. It should never be placed near floors, in bathrooms, or in areas where it might be treated with disrespect.

No. Our metal pieces undergo a premium electro-coating process in Turkey. This industrial-grade finish creates a chemical bond that is rust-resistant and tarnish-proof. Whether you choose Gold, Silver, or Black, the finish is designed to maintain its brilliant, mirror-like luster for decades.

The most traditional and respectful locations are the living room foyer or a dedicated prayer space (Musallah). Hanging it near the entrance of the home is a powerful way to set the spiritual tone for everyone who enters, reminding them of the foundation of their faith.

Accuracy is treated as a sacred 'Amanah' (trust). Every piece is designed in Turkey and cross-referenced with the Uthmani. Master calligraphers meticulously verify every 'Nuqta' (dot) and 'Haraka' (vowel mark) to ensure the divine words are perfectly preserved.

Our wood art offers a warm, 3D organic feel that brings a traditional aesthetic. Our metal art features a sleek, high-end finish with industrial durability. Both materials are handcrafted in our Turkish workshop to ensure museum-quality standards.

Yes, it is common to hang it in a bedroom as a source of peace and a reminder to make the Kalima one's final thought before sleep. Ensure it is mounted securely and high on the wall to maintain the respect due to the declaration of faith.

Treat the art with the same respect as a Mushaf. We recommend using a soft, dry microfiber cloth to gently remove dust. Avoid water or chemical cleaners, as they are unnecessary for our premium finishes and could potentially dull the luster over time.

Our metal art is engineered to be sturdy yet lightweight. Most pieces are designed to be hung with a single nail. They often feature built-in spacers that allow the art to sit 1.5 cm away from the wall, creating a beautiful 3D shadow effect that adds depth to the script.

Turkey is the historical heart of Islamic calligraphy. By manufacturing in our Turkish workshop, we employ craftsmen who have inherited centuries of artistic tradition. This ensures that the proportions of every letter are aesthetically and scripturally perfect, a quality mass-produced items cannot match.

The screws in the metal wall art are for the hanging bracket on the back and for the blind feet to provide a 3D view. Never attempt to remove them.

Metal products can be used outdoors, but are not recommended for direct rain, moisture or sunlight.

Yes, it can be done. First, confirm with customer service whether this is possible. If our designer approves, you will receive a custom order payment link.

Our products are made by hand, using labor-intensive techniques. Some minor defects are within the limits, and we indicate this in the listing details. If you detect a defect that exceeds the limits, contact customer service.

It will not darken unless exposed to moisture in normal indoor environments. We do not recommend protecting it from moisture or exposure to rain or direct sunlight outdoors.

We do not recommend any chemical products. You can remove dust with a slightly damp cloth.
