Al-Falaq and An-Nas in Kufic

Two squares of Kufic, one surah each

Al-Falaq and An-Nas set in Kufic and cut from 6 mm MDF in a black painted finish. Sizes are per panel, from 40 to 60 cm square, and both come together.

Three decisions before it ships

  1. Size

Three sizes per panel, 40 to 60 cm square — and two panels in every set.

  2. Finish

    One finish — black painted.

  3. Hanging

Two panels, so the gap between them is the work rather than the fixings. Ready to hang on delivery.

What is written on it

The two surahs of refuge

Al-Falaq seeks refuge from the evil in what was created; An-Nas from the whisperer within. Kufic is the squared, architectural hand — which is what lets each surah resolve into a true square.

“Say, I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak, From the evil of that which He created, And from the evil of darkness when it settles, And from the evil of the blowers in knots, And from the evil of an envier when he envies.”

Size & scale

The table is one square; the set is two of them

Each figure below is a single panel. The drawing shows both side by side at true scale, a finger-width apart, with the smaller sizes nested inside the end square.

Tape the whole outline first. A set needs its total footprint marked, not each piece measured — run painter's tape around the full width and height, stand back to where you normally sit, and judge it from there.

Craft

Cut into the board, not printed on it

Each surah is cut into a 6 mm MDF panel, so the wall color fills the counters of the Kufic script and the square reads as a screen rather than a plate.

  • Kufic squared script, which is what lets each panel resolve into a square
  • Cut clean through the board, so the wall color becomes part of the piece
  • A painted MDF panel with its own depth and a clean cut edge
  • Edges finished clean, with no visible fixings on the face

On the cut. Because the design is cut out of the board rather than printed onto it, the wall behind becomes part of the piece and the silhouette reads from across the room.

Hanging it

Two squares, one line, one gap

A pair reads as one piece when both share a level line and the gap is deliberate. Set the spacing on the floor before you mark anything.

  1. Lay the set out on the floor

Arrange every piece exactly as it should read on the wall, with even gaps, then measure the total width and the distance to each fixing.

  2. Mark one shared line

Pencil a single level line on the wall and put every fixing on it. That is what keeps the pieces reading as one composition.

  3. Tape the outline, then work across

Painter's tape to the full outline lets you check the whole arrangement before drilling. Hang from one end and work across, checking each piece against the line.

Where it goes

Where the two go

The prayer corner

The wall you face when you lay out the mat. A square centers a small wall without leaning tall or wide.

Above a console or a sideboard

A square sits comfortably over a run of furniture, where it reads as one block rather than a band.

A study or a reading wall

The smaller size holds a narrow wall beside a door or a bookcase, at standing eye level.

Care

Keeping it as it arrived

Dry cloth only

A soft, dry cloth. A painted board marks with abrasives, so nothing scouring.

No solvents

Alcohol and glass cleaner will lift paint. If a mark will not come off dry, use a barely damp cloth and dry it at once.

Away from damp and direct sun

Wood moves with humidity, so give it an interior wall out of the midday light and away from a bathroom.

Choose your size and finish

Three sizes per panel and two panels on the wall. Tape the whole outline first — that is the only measurement that matters.

Frequently Asked Questions

Known as the 'Verses of Refuge,' these two Surahs were revealed together as a means of seeking Allah's protection. Surah Al-Falaq shields the household from external harms and envy, while Surah An-Nas protects the heart from internal whispers and anxieties. Together, they create a complete spiritual 'shield' for your home.

Displaying these verses serves as a constant visual reminder that ultimate safety is found in the remembrance of Allah. Seeing the flowing 3D calligraphy in your living space helps lower stress and provides an emotional anchor, reminding the family that they are under Divine care at all times of the day and night.

Placing Al-Falaq and An-Nas in entryways acts as a blessing for those entering and leaving, while placing them in bedrooms provides a sense of peace before sleep. They encourage the sunnah habit of reciting these protective verses, turning your walls into a source of daily spiritual practice and 'Dhikr.'

The interconnected, rhythmic curves of our 3D calligraphy mirror the poetic beauty of the Qur'an itself. In these Surahs, the script flows in a way that symbolizes the continuous and encompassing nature of Allah’s protection, wrapping your home in a 'spiritual embrace.'

Gifting these Surahs is an expression of deep care for the recipient’s well-being. It is more than decor; it is a prayer for their safety and success. Whether for a new home or a wedding, this set is a prestigious gift that carries a profound emotional and protective meaning.

Our 3D sets are typically crafted with a 6 mm MDF wood base topped with a 1.2 mm premium mirrored or high-gloss acrylic layer; as well, they are crafted from 1.5mm/2mm thick premium quality metal covered with powder paint or shiny coatings.

The high-quality gold or silver acrylic provides a 'liquid metal' finish that reflects the lighting and colors of your room. Unlike flat paint, this reflective surface makes the sacred script appear dynamic and luminous, adding a luxurious feel that traditional canvas cannot replicate.

No. Each piece is engineered with a hidden system on the reverse side. This allows the art to be mounted securely while sitting slightly off the wall, creating a sophisticated 'floating' effect. The hardware remains almost invisible, keeping the focus entirely on the sacred script.

Maintenance is simple: use only a soft, dry microfiber cloth to gently remove dust. We strictly advise against using water, alcohol, or chemical glass cleaners on the acrylic letters, as a dry dusting is the best way to ensure the polished, mirror-like finish remains scratch-free for decades.

Every dot, vowel mark (harakat), and curve is meticulously verified by our designers against the Uthmani script. Because we use precision laser-cutting technology, we achieve 100% theological accuracy, ensuring that the visual representation of these protective Surahs is as perfect as the words themselves.

Black painted, Gold Acrylic and Silver Acrylic

The wall art pieces are crafted from high-quality materials, including laser-cut MDF wood and acrylic. To maintain their appearance, avoid using water, alcohol, or chemicals. Clean the surfaces with a dry, soft cloth to preserve the finish. These materials ensure durability and a premium look suitable for long-term display.

Yes, all wall art pieces come fully assembled and ready to hang. They include pre-installed hanging hardware or nails or double-sided tapes for easy installation.

We do not recommend any chemical products. You can remove dust with a slightly damp cloth.
