Salawat al-Ummi

The salawat, cut as one line

Salawat al-Ummi cut from steel and powder painted to a matte finish, in two lengths — 69 or 99 cm.

Three decisions before it ships

  1. Size

Two lengths — 69 or 99 cm — drawn to scale against a sofa below.

  2. Finish

Four finishes — black, matte gold, matte silver or matte copper.

  3. Hanging

It arrives with the hanging tools, so the work is one level line at the right height.

What is written on it

The words said on hearing his name

The blessing said whenever the Prophet is mentioned, in the wording known as al-Ummi — which is why this one usually goes where the household passes it daily.

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ النَّبِيِّ الأُمِّيِّ وَعَلَى آلِهِ وَسَلِّمْ تَسْلِيماً

Salawat al-Ummi

Size & scale

A long line is judged against the furniture

Both lengths are more than four times wider than they are tall, so these sit above a doorway or a console rather than filling a wall. Drawn below at true scale over a three-seat sofa.

Three-seat sofa · 200 cm (79 in) wide, 82 cm (32 in) high L · 99 × 22 cm 39 × 8.7 in M · 69 × 15 cm 27.2 × 5.9 in
SizeWidth × height (in)Width × height (cm)Best for
M27.2 × 5.9″69 × 15 cmAbove a doorway, a shelf, or a narrow console
L39 × 8.7″99 × 22 cmAbove a two- or three-seat sofa — the length most chosen

Match it to the furniture, not the wall. A low horizontal piece looks right when it spans roughly two thirds of whatever sits beneath it. Run painter's tape to the full width first and look at it from where you normally sit.

Craft

The depth is structural, not printed

Steel rather than sheet metal, cut clean through the script and powder painted afterwards, so the finish is even on every inside edge.

  • Cut steel, powder painted after cutting
  • Letterforms cut clean through, so the wall color becomes part of the artwork
  • Electrostatic powder coating, baked on for a hard, even surface
  • No odour and no harmful substances

A coating that is baked, not sprayed. Powder is applied electrostatically and then cured, which gives a harder and more even surface than a sprayed paint and holds its color without yellowing.

Finishes

The finishes

Four matte finishes. Black reads hardest against a pale wall; gold, silver and copper each pick up the light differently.

Salawat al-Ummi metal wall art in black

Black

The sharpest contrast of the set against a pale wall, and the one that reads most clearly from across a room.

Salawat al-Ummi metal wall art in matte gold

Matte Gold

Powder coated. Warmth without shine, which suits a room lit mostly by lamps rather than daylight.

Salawat al-Ummi metal wall art in matte silver

Matte Silver

Powder coated. Cool and quiet, and the easiest to place in a room that already has chrome or glass in it.

Salawat al-Ummi metal wall art in matte copper

Matte Copper

Powder coated. The warmest of the matte finishes, and the one that reads best against green, clay or deep neutral walls.

Hanging it

One level line does the whole job

A long horizontal shows every degree of tilt, so mark the line rather than judging it by eye.

  1. Measure to the fixing first

Set it face up and measure from the left edge to each fixing point, so the wall marks come from the piece rather than from guesswork.

  2. Pencil one level line

A low, wide piece shows every degree of tilt, so mark a light horizontal line and put every fixing on it.

  3. Tape the width, then hang

Painter's tape to the full width lets you check the position from across the room before drilling.

Where it goes

The walls it was sized for

By the front door

The wall you pass on the way in and out — which is the point of the words on it.

Hallway and landing

A long, low piece suits a corridor, where it reads on the way past rather than asking you to stop.

Above a console

It spans a hallway console without crowding the ceiling above it.

MaterialCut metal, electrostatic powder coatedPrinted canvas, acrylic sheet, or thin laser-cut board

SizesTwo, up to 99 cm wideOften a single fixed size
The textThe salawat in full, not a fragmentOften an excerpt rather than the whole text

Care

Keeping it as it arrived

Dry cloth only

A soft, dry cloth along the length of the script. A baked powder coat is harder than sprayed paint and takes dusting well.

No solvents

Alcohol, glass cleaner and polish will dull a matte surface. If a mark will not lift dry, use a barely damp cloth and dry it at once.

Damp resistant

The powder coat handles humidity better than a painted finish. Give it an indoor wall away from a bathroom or a kitchen extractor.

Choose your size and finish

Two sizes, and the finish is the rest of the decision. Tape the width on the wall first — it is the only measurement that matters.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Salawat is a visual 'dhikr' (remembrance) that invites the 'Barakah' (divine blessing) and 'Noor' (light) of the Prophet (PBUH) into your living space. It serves as a constant reminder to fulfill the Quranic command to send blessings upon him, which is believed to ease worries, forgive sins, and bring peace to the household.

Out of reverence for the Prophet's name, these pieces should be placed in clean, dignified, and elevated positions. Many families choose to hang them in the main living area or a dedicated prayer room, where they can be seen frequently, prompting the tongue to recite the blessing whenever the eye meets the art.

In Islamic tradition, the regular recitation of Salawat is a means of protection and a way to seek intercession. By having these sacred words visible, it encourages a culture of constant prayer within the home, creating an environment that is spiritually fortified and centered on Prophetic love.

Our Salawat designs often utilize 'Thuluth' or 'Jali Thuluth' script, known for its majestic and complex beauty. The letters are woven together in a way that emphasizes the rhythm and harmony of the blessing, making the art both a spiritual focal point and a masterpiece of Islamic penmanship.

We use a precision multi-layered construction that gives the Arabic letters physical depth. This 3D effect allows the calligraphy to cast soft shadows against the wall, giving the sacred name of the Prophet (PBUH) a prominent, dignified presence that flat prints cannot replicate.

Each piece is treated with high-luster, specialized coatings—such as brushed gold, polished silver, or deep matte black. These finishes are engineered to be anti-tarnish and moisture-resistant, ensuring that the regal appearance of the Salawat remains pristine for years to come.

To preserve the intricate curves and reflective surfaces, we recommend a light dusting with a dry, soft microfiber cloth. Avoid using water or chemical sprays, as the specialized 3D finish is designed to stay vibrant with minimal, dry maintenance.

Gifting Salawat is a gesture of deep spiritual affection. It is an exceptionally meaningful choice for weddings, Hajj/Umrah return gifts, or housewarmings, as it offers the recipient a permanent source of reward and a reminder of the Prophet’s (PBUH) mercy.

Yes. Each design features an integrated, hidden hanging system on the reverse. This allows the piece to sit securely against the wall with a professional 'floating' appearance, ensuring the visual focus remains entirely on the sacred calligraphy without visible hardware.

Our master designers in Turkey meticulously verify every vowel and 'harakat' (diacritical mark) to ensure the script is 100% accurate. We bridge centuries-old calligraphic traditions with modern production standards to deliver a piece that is spiritually authentic and artistically flawless.

The screws in the metal wall art are for the hanging bracket on the back and for the blind feet to provide a 3D view. Never attempt to remove them.

Metal products can be used outdoors, but are not recommended for direct rain, moisture or sunlight.

Yes, it can be done. First, confirm with customer service whether this is possible. If our designer approves, you will receive a custom order payment link.

Our products are made by hand, using labor-intensive techniques. Some minor defects are within the limits, and we indicate this in the listing details. If you detect a defect that exceeds the limits, contact customer service.

It will not darken unless exposed to moisture in normal indoor environments. We do not recommend protecting it from moisture or exposure to rain or direct sunlight outdoors.

We do not recommend any chemical products. You can remove dust with a slightly damp cloth.
