Surah An-Naml 19

The dua of gratitude, cut as one line

Surah An-Naml Ayat 19 cut from 1.5 mm metal with an electrostatic paint finish, standing 1.5 cm clear of the wall. Two lengths, 69 or 99 cm.

Two decisions before it ships

  1. Size

Two lengths — 69 or 99 cm — drawn to scale against a sofa below.

  2. Hanging

One nail through the bracket already fitted to the back. It arrives ready to hang.

What is written on it

Sulayman’s dua, in full

The dua Sulayman made on hearing the ant: that he be given to be grateful for the favor shown to him and to his parents.

رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِي أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَالِدَيَّ

“My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents”

Surah An-Naml 27:19

Size & scale

A long line is judged against the furniture

Both lengths are around four times wider than they are tall, so they sit above a console, a bookshelf or a doorway rather than filling a wall. Drawn below at true scale over a three-seat sofa.

Three-seat sofa · 200 cm (79 in) wide, 82 cm (32 in) high XL · 99 × 24 cm 39 × 9.4 in L · 69 × 17 cm 27.2 × 6.7 in
SizeWidth × height (in)Width × height (cm)Best for
L27.2 × 6.7″69 × 17 cmAbove a console, a low bookshelf, or a doorway
XL39 × 9.4″99 × 24 cmAbove a two- or three-seat sofa — the length most chosen

Match it to the furniture, not the wall. A low horizontal piece looks right when it spans roughly two thirds of whatever sits beneath it. Run painter's tape to the full width first and look at it from where you normally sit.

Craft

The depth is structural, not printed

The verse is cut clean through the sheet, so the wall color runs inside the letterforms. Mounted 1.5 cm proud, the line carries its own shadow along the wall.

  • One line, cut clean through the sheet
  • Letterforms cut clean through, so the wall color becomes part of the artwork
  • Cut edges left clean through the fine strokes of the script
  • The weight and the edge of real metal rather than a printed panel

Why the cut matters. Because the script is cut out of the sheet rather than printed onto it, the wall behind becomes part of the artwork and the piece changes with the light in the room through the day.

Hanging it

One nail, once the line is marked

A long horizontal shows every degree of tilt, so mark the line rather than judging it by eye. One nail through the bracket carries it.

  1. Lay it down and measure to the bracket

Set it face up and measure from the left edge to the bracket. That single number is the whole job.

  2. Pencil one level line

Mark a light horizontal line at bracket height, centered on the furniture below rather than on the wall as a whole.

  3. Tape the width, then hang

Painter's tape to the full width shows you the position from across the room. Hang it and check it against the line.

Where it goes

The walls a long line suits

Above the sofa

The wall this was designed for, spanning roughly two thirds of the seat beneath it.

Dining and console walls

A long, low piece sits naturally over a sideboard or a dining table, where a tall piece would crowd the ceiling.

Entryway and hallway

Cut work keeps a corridor from feeling closed in, because the wall reads through the letterforms.

Care

Keeping it as it arrived

Dry cloth only

A soft, dry cloth along the length of the script. Nothing abrasive.

No cleaners

Alcohol, glass cleaner and polish will mark a finished metal surface. A barely damp cloth, dried at once, is enough.

Away from damp

An indoor piece. Keep it off bathroom walls and away from a kitchen extractor.

Choose your size and finish

Two sizes, and the finish is the rest of the decision. Tape the width on the wall first — it is the only measurement that matters.

Frequently Asked Questions

This verse is a masterclass in 'Shukr' (gratitude). It teaches that gratitude is not just a feeling, but a capacity that we must ask Allah to grant us ('awzi'nee'—enable me). It also highlights the importance of honoring one's parents by including them in our prayers for gratitude, recognizing that the favors we enjoy are often a result of their efforts and Allah's mercy upon them.

Displaying this prayer transforms a house into a space of mindfulness. It acts as a visual 'reset' for the family, especially during times of success or abundance. It reminds everyone that no matter how much we achieve, our primary duty is to remain righteous and grateful, preventing the heart from falling into arrogance or taking blessings for granted.

This piece is ideal for central gathering areas like the living room or dining room, where the family enjoys blessings together. It is also a thoughtful choice for an entryway, serving as the first and last reminder of the day to be a grateful servant in every state.

Our designs for Verse 19 often utilize a fluid 'Thuluth' or an elegant 'Diwani' script. The composition is carefully balanced to emphasize the word 'Rabbi' (My Lord) and 'Ashkura' (Be Grateful), creating a majestic visual hierarchy that mirrors the spiritual weight of Prophet Sulayman's words.

We employ an intricate multi-layered 3D technique that gives the calligraphy physical depth. This allows the Arabic letters to interact with your room’s lighting; as the light shifts, the art casts varying shadows that give the prayer a dynamic, 'living' appearance on your wall that flat prints cannot replicate.

The piece is treated with high-luster, specialized coatings—such as brushed gold, polished silver, or deep matte black. These finishes are anti-tarnish and moisture-resistant, ensuring that the regal appearance of the verse remains pristine and vibrant for decades without fading or wear.

To preserve the premium textures and sharp edges of the 3D metalwork, a simple wipe with a dry, soft microfiber cloth is sufficient. Avoiding chemical cleaners or water ensures that the specialized finish stays vivid and clear for the lifetime of the piece.

Because the verse explicitly mentions gratitude for favors bestowed upon one's parents, it is a profoundly moving gift for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, or anniversaries. It shows that you are not only grateful for your own life but that you recognize their role in your success and are praying for them through the words of a Prophet.

Yes. Each design features an integrated, hidden hanging system on the reverse side. This allows the piece to sit securely against the wall with a professional 'floating' look, keeping the focus entirely on the sacred calligraphy without visible or distracting hardware.

Our master designers in Turkey meticulously verify every vowel and 'harakat' (diacritical mark) to ensure 100% calligraphic accuracy. We bridge centuries of heritage with modern production standards to deliver a piece that is as spiritually sound as it is artistically superior.

The screws in the metal wall art are for the hanging bracket on the back and for the blind feet to provide a 3D view. Never attempt to remove them.

Metal products can be used outdoors, but are not recommended for direct rain, moisture or sunlight.

We do not recommend any chemical products. You can remove dust with a slightly damp cloth.
