  • Translation of Ayatul Kursi:

"Allah! There is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great."

Translation of Al-Fatiha:

In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds, The Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate, Master of the Day of Judgment. You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help. Guide us on the Straight Path, The path of those who have received Your grace; Not the path of those who have brought down wrath upon themselves, nor of those who have gone astray.

Al-Fatiha with Ayat al-Kursi

Two drops, one on each wall or side by side

Surah Al-Fatiha and Ayat al-Kursi cut into matching teardrop silhouettes in metal. Two sizes per piece — 48 × 67 cm or 69 × 96 cm.

Three decisions before it ships

  1. Size

    Two sizes per piece — 48 × 67 cm or 69 × 96 cm — drawn to scale against a sofa below.

  2. Finish

Seven finishes: black, matte gold, silver or copper, and gold, silver or copper polished.

  3. Hanging

Two pieces, so the gap between them is the decision — or hang them on facing walls.

What is written on it

The opening surah, and the Throne Verse

The surah every prayer opens with, beside the verse recited for protection — cut to the same outline so the two read as a set.

“Allah! And He is the Most High, the Most Great.”

Al-Baqarah 2:255, one of the two

Size & scale

The table is one drop; the pair is two of them

Each figure below is one piece. The drawing shows the pair at true scale, a finger-width apart, with the smaller size nested inside the right-hand drop.

Three-seat sofa · 200 cm (79 in) wide, 82 cm (32 in) high · pieces drawn 2.5 cm apart XL · 69 × 96 cm each 27.2 × 37.8 in L · 48 × 67 cm each 18.9 × 26.4 in
SizeWidth × height (in)Width × height (cm)Best for
L18.9 × 26.4″48 × 67 cmA prayer corner, a landing, or above a console
XL27.2 × 37.8″69 × 96 cmA main living-room wall — the size most chosen

Tape the whole outline first. A set needs its total footprint marked, not each piece measured — run painter's tape around the full width and height, stand back to where you normally sit, and judge it from there.

Finishing

Craft

A whole text in each cut

Each piece holds a complete text, cut from one sheet and held together by the drop outline itself — which is what lets the script run to the edge without a frame around it.

  • Two drops cut to one outline, a complete text in each
  • Letterforms cut clean through, so the wall color becomes part of the artwork
  • Cut edges left clean through the fine strokes of the script
  • The weight and the edge of real metal rather than a printed panel

Why the cut matters. Because the script is cut out of the sheet rather than printed onto it, the wall behind becomes part of the artwork and the piece changes with the light in the room through the day.

Finishes

The finishes

Seven finishes. The matte options give the most uniform surface; the polished ones throw light back into the room.

Surah Fatiha and Ayatul Kursi drop design pair in black

Black

The sharpest contrast of the set against a pale wall, and the one that reads most clearly from across a room.

Surah Fatiha and Ayatul Kursi drop design pair in matte copper

Matte Copper

The warmest of the matte finishes, and the one that reads best against green, clay or deep neutral walls.

Surah Fatiha and Ayatul Kursi drop design pair in matte gold

Matte Gold

Warmth without shine, which suits a room lit mostly by lamps rather than daylight.

Surah Fatiha and Ayatul Kursi drop design pair in matte silver

Matte Silver

Cool and quiet, and the easiest to place in a room that already has chrome or glass in it.

Surah Fatiha and Ayatul Kursi drop design pair in shiny copper

Shiny Copper

Warmer than the gold and less common, and worth it if the room already has brass or wood tones.

Surah Fatiha and Ayatul Kursi drop design pair in shiny gold

Shiny Gold

The most reflective of the set and the one most often chosen for a main living-room wall.

Surah Fatiha and Ayatul Kursi drop design pair in shiny silver

Shiny Silver

Throws light back into the room, so it lifts a wall that sits away from a window.

Hanging it

Two pieces, one shared line

Hung together, the pair reads as one when both sit on the same level line with an even gap. Set that gap on the floor first.

  1. Lay the set out on the floor

Arrange every piece exactly as it should read on the wall, with even gaps, then measure the total width and the distance to each fixing.

  2. Mark one shared line

Pencil a single level line on the wall and put every fixing on it. That is what keeps the pieces reading as one composition.

  3. Tape the outline, then work across

Painter's tape to the full outline lets you check the whole arrangement before drilling. Hang from one end and work across, checking each piece against the line.

  • Packed with corner protection for transit

Where it goes

Where the pair goes

The prayer corner

The wall you face when you lay out the mat, at standing eye level rather than above it.

A hallway or landing

It reads on the way past, on a wall people walk by rather than sit in front of.

Above a console

A main living-room wall, centered on the furniture beneath rather than on the wall as a whole.

Care

Keeping it as it arrived

Dry cloth only

A soft, dry cloth along the length of the script. Nothing abrasive.

No cleaners

Alcohol, glass cleaner and polish will mark a finished metal surface. A barely damp cloth, dried at once, is enough.

Away from damp

An indoor piece. Keep it off bathroom walls and away from a kitchen extractor.

Choose your size and finish

Two sizes, and the finish is the rest of the decision. Tape the outline on the wall first — it is the only measurement that matters.
