Hawqala La Hawla Wa La Quwwata Illa Billahil Aliyyil Azeem Powder Painted Metal Islamic Wall Art

The Hawqala

"There is no power except with Allah"

La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah, cut from 1.5 mm metal and standing 2 cm clear of the wall. Two lengths, 69 or 99 cm.

Three decisions before it ships

  1. Size

Two lengths — 69 or 99 cm — drawn to scale against a sofa below.

  2. Finish

Four finishes — black, gold, silver or copper.

  3. Hanging

One nail through the bracket already fitted to the back. It arrives ready to hang.

What is written on it

The sentence said when strength runs out

The words said in the face of something you cannot fix yourself: there is no power and no strength except with Allah.

لا حول ولا قوة الا بالله العلي العظيم

“There is no power and no strength except with Allah, the Most High, the Most Great.”

The Hawqala

Size & scale

A long line is judged against the furniture

Both lengths are around three and a half times wider than they are tall, so they sit above a desk, a console or a doorway rather than filling a wall. Drawn below at true scale over a three-seat sofa.

Three-seat sofa · 200 cm (79 in) wide, 82 cm (32 in) high L · 99 × 29 cm 39 × 11.4 in M · 69 × 20 cm 27.2 × 7.9 in
SizeWidth × height (in)Width × height (cm)Best for
M27.2 × 7.9″69 × 20 cmAbove a desk, a doorway, or a narrow console
L39 × 11.4″99 × 29 cmAbove a two- or three-seat sofa — the length most chosen

Match it to the furniture, not the wall. A low horizontal piece looks right when it spans roughly two thirds of whatever sits beneath it. Run painter's tape to the full width first and look at it from where you normally sit.

Materials

What it is made of

Material
Metal1.5 mm sheet

Craft

The depth is structural, not printed

The script is cut clean through the sheet, so the wall color runs inside the letterforms. Mounted 2 cm proud, the line carries its own shadow along the wall.

  • One sentence, cut clean through the sheet
  • Letterforms cut clean through, so the wall color becomes part of the artwork
  • Electrostatic powder coating, baked on for a hard, even surface
  • Cut edges left clean through the fine strokes of the script

A coating that is baked, not sprayed. Powder is applied electrostatically and then cured, which gives a harder and more even surface than a sprayed paint.

Finishes

The finishes

Four finishes in an electrostatic powder paint. Black reads hardest against a pale wall; gold, silver and copper each pick up the light of the room differently.

Hawqala metal wall art in black

Black

The sharpest contrast of the set against a pale wall, and the one that reads most clearly from across a room.

Hawqala metal wall art in gold

Gold

Warm and bright, and the one that reads best against off-white and cream walls.

Hawqala metal wall art in silver

Silver

Cool and quiet, and the easiest to place in a room that already has chrome or glass in it.

Hawqala metal wall art in copper

Copper

The warmest of the set, and the one that reads best against green, clay or deep neutral walls.

Hanging it

One nail, once the line is marked

A long horizontal shows every degree of tilt, so mark the line rather than judging it by eye. One nail through the bracket carries it.

  1. Lay it down and measure to the bracket

Set it face up and measure from the left edge to the bracket. That single number is the whole job.

  2. Pencil one level line

Mark a light horizontal line at bracket height, centered on the furniture below rather than on the wall as a whole.

  3. Tape the width, then hang

Painter's tape to the full width shows you the position from across the room. Hang it and check it against the line.

Where it goes

The walls it was sized for

By the front door

The wall you pass on the way in and out — which is the point of the words on it.

Hallway and landing

A long, low piece suits a corridor, where it reads on the way past rather than asking you to stop.

Above a console

It spans a hallway console without crowding the ceiling above it.

Care

Keeping it as it arrived

Dry cloth only

A soft, dry cloth along the length of the script. A baked powder coat is harder than sprayed paint and takes dusting well.

No solvents

Alcohol, glass cleaner and polish will dull a powder-painted surface. If a mark will not lift dry, use a barely damp cloth and dry it at once.

Away from damp

An indoor piece. Keep it off bathroom walls and away from a kitchen extractor.

Choose your size and finish

Two sizes, and the finish is the rest of the decision. Tape the width on the wall first — it is the only measurement that matters.

Frequently Asked Questions

This phrase, known as the 'Hawqala', is a declaration of total reliance on Allah. The Prophet (PBUH) described it as a treasure from Paradise. It signifies that we have no power to move away from sin or toward worship without His divine assistance, making it a cornerstone of humility and faith.

Yes. It is permissible to display these words to encourage Dhikr (remembrance) and provide spiritual comfort. According to scholars, the primary purpose must be the remembrance of Allah and the beautification of the home with His words, rather than treating the object as an independent source of power.

The most respectful placement is in a clean, high-traffic area like a living room or entryway where it can be easily seen and recited. It should be hung at an elevated level, above eye level, out of respect for the sacred text and away from any disrespectful environments like bathrooms.

Electro-coating involves a chemical process that bonds the finish to the metal at a molecular level. This creates a surface that is far more durable than standard paint. It prevents peeling, scratching, and oxidation, ensuring your gold or silver Hawqala piece remains a lifetime heirloom.

The products require a production cycle in our Turkey facility. Once shipped, we use express couriers to deliver your order within 3-7 business days, ensuring your spiritual decor arrives safely and swiftly.

If you move, the art should be handled with care and kept in a clean state. If a piece containing Quranic or Prophetic script is no longer usable, it should be gifted to someone else, donated to a local Masjid, or disposed of by burying or burning the text in a respectful manner.

No. Our products are crafted in Turkey using premium materials and specialized coatings designed to withstand indoor environmental factors. The finish is moisture-resistant and UV-stable, meaning it will retain its brilliant luster and color without tarnishing over the years.

While views on music vary, the presence of sacred text should ideally inspire a dignified atmosphere. Many find that having the Hawqala displayed helps keep the environment grounded in faith. It is not 'haram' to have it in communal spaces, provided the room is kept clean and respectable.

We work with expert calligraphers who specialize in Islamic scripts to ensure every dot and vowel (Tashkeel) is correct. Our designs are cross-referenced with established religious texts to maintain absolute accuracy. With 31,700+ orders, our commitment to scriptural integrity is ironclad.

While we offer several standard sizes optimized for aesthetic balance, we can occasionally accommodate custom requests depending on the design. Our expert team in Turkey ensures that any resizing maintains the mathematical beauty and religious reverence inherent in the calligraphy.

The screws in the metal wall art are for the hanging bracket on the back and for the blind feet to provide a 3D view. Never attempt to remove them.

Metal products can be used outdoors, but are not recommended for direct rain, moisture or sunlight.

Yes, it can be done. First, confirm with customer service whether this is possible. If our designer approves, you will receive a custom order payment link.

Our products are made by hand, using labor-intensive techniques. Some minor defects are within the limits, and we indicate this in the listing details. If you detect a defect that exceeds the limits, contact customer service.

It will not darken unless exposed to moisture in normal indoor environments. We do not recommend protecting it from moisture or exposure to rain or direct sunlight outdoors.

We do not recommend any chemical products. You can remove dust with a slightly damp cloth.
