A prayer corner in one project

A wooden mihrab, with the pieces that belong around it

A lattice-cut mihrab arch in black MDF wood, with the Allah and Muhammad calligraphy and the Baqarah 144 statement scaled to match it. Four set sizes, up to 180 × 120 cm.

Two decisions before it ships

  1. Size

Four set sizes. The mihrab runs 90 cm tall by 60 cm wide up to 180 × 120 cm, and the calligraphy and the verse strip scale with it.

  2. Hanging

Three pieces that make one wall, so the layout is the work. Lay the set out on the floor before anything goes up.

What is written on it

Baqarah 144, the verse about facing the qiblah

The verse that gives a prayer corner its direction, cut into the strip that hangs above the arch.

فَوَلِّ وَجۡهَكَ شَطۡرَ ٱلۡمَسۡجِدِ ٱلۡحَرَامِۖ

Fawalli wajhaka shatral Masjidil Haraam

“[For prayer, O Muhammad] turn your face toward al- Masjid al-Haram”

Surah Al-Baqarah 2:144

Wooden mihrab arch with geometric lattice in black MDF

Craft

A lattice cut through solid wood

The arch is cut as a geometric lattice, so the wall shows through the pattern and the mihrab reads as an opening rather than a panel. It is black MDF, coloured through rather than painted; the two round medallions that flank it carry a gold or silver acrylic face.

  • A geometric lattice cut right through the wood
  • Cut and layered so the calligraphy sits forward of the panel behind it
  • Wood and acrylic combined, each carrying its own depth and grain
  • Edges finished clean, with no visible fixings on the face

On wood and acrylic. Layering the two materials is what gives the piece its depth: the acrylic carries the line of the calligraphy and the wood behind it gives the panel warmth and weight.

The lattice, close

Every star and every join is cut right through the wood — the pattern is the material, not a print on it.

Hanging it

The arch sets the line; everything else follows it

The mihrab is the largest piece and the one the eye levels against, so it goes up first and the calligraphy and the verse strip are placed to it.

  1. Lay the set out on the floor

Arrange every piece exactly as it should read on the wall, with even gaps, then measure the total width and the distance to each fixing.

  2. Mark one shared line

Pencil a single level line on the wall and put every fixing on it. That is what keeps the pieces reading as one composition.

  3. Tape the outline, then work across

Painter's tape to the full outline lets you check the whole arrangement before drilling. Hang from one end and work across, checking each piece against the line.

“Great product in design, and easy to install. I would only like to see the use of a different type of stain than the powder one that leaves marks when touched.”

Care

Keeping it as it arrived

Dry cloth only

A soft, dry cloth. Wood and acrylic both mark with abrasives, so nothing scouring.

No solvents

Alcohol and glass cleaner will haze acrylic. If a mark will not lift dry, use a barely damp cloth and dry it at once.

Away from damp and direct sun

Wood moves with humidity and acrylic can warm in direct sunlight, so give it an interior wall out of the midday light.

Choose your size and finish

Four set sizes, and the mihrab is what sets the scale. Tape its outline on the wall first — that is the only measurement that matters.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Mihrab is the most sacred architectural element of a mosque, symbolizing the 'gateway' to Divine presence. Displaying this motif at home helps designate a specific area for prayer and reflection, grounding the household in a state of 'Khushu' (devotion) and providing a constant visual connection to the Qibla.

Yes. Using Mihrab silhouettes is a time-honored tradition in Islamic interior design. It is intended to honor the sanctity of prayer spaces and serves as an educational tool for children to recognize the direction of worship. It is best placed in areas kept clean and used for quiet remembrance.

We use an advanced multi-layered construction that mimics the depth of a real mosque niche. This staggered 3D effect creates a sense of 'infinity' within the arch, allowing the intricate geometric patterns and calligraphy to cast subtle shadows that change as the daylight moves through your room.

Each piece undergoes a specialized coating process that provides a rich, lustrous texture. This finish is engineered to be moisture-resistant and anti-tarnish, ensuring the deep golds, silvers, or blacks retain their regal appearance without needing intense maintenance over the years.

While stunning in a living room, it is most impactful when placed on the wall facing the Qibla. This creates a 'home musallah' (prayer space), providing a dignified and beautiful focal point that anchors your daily prayers and spiritual routine.

Our design team in Turkey interprets classical Ottoman and Andalusian arches through a minimalist lens. By stripping back the heavy stone of traditional architecture into sleek, clean lines, we provide a piece that fits seamlessly into contemporary apartments while preserving centuries-old spiritual symbolism.

To maintain the pristine reflective surfaces and sharp edges, we recommend a light dusting with a dry, soft microfiber cloth. Avoiding chemical sprays or wet sponges will protect the integrity of the specialized finish and keep the intricate geometry looking sharp.

It is an exceptionally prestigious choice for public or private sacred spaces. Gifting a Mihrab design is seen as a gesture of support for a community’s spiritual growth, making it a highly appropriate contribution for a new masjid, prayer room, or Islamic library.

The art arrives ready for display with a pre-balanced, hidden mounting system on the back. This allows the Mihrab to sit securely against your wall with a slight gap, creating a professional 'floating' look that highlights its architectural silhouette without visible hardware.

Absolutely. Many of our Mihrab designs feature specific verses like Ayatul Kursi or Surah Al-Ikhlas. Our scholars and designers verify every stroke of the calligraphy to ensure total accuracy, providing you with a piece that is as religiously sound as it is aesthetically beautiful.

Our Mihrab Wall Decors are made out of mainly MDF wood and acrylic.
