Ramadan and Eid, on the table

Five acrylic stands, one for every table

A freestanding acrylic sign in five designs — two made with your family name, one in square Kufic, and two in flowing script for Ramadan and for Eid. Each stands on its own base, about 22 × 13 cm.

Three decisions before it ships

Design

Family Name (Cosmic), Family Name (Modern), Kufic Ramadan Kareem, Ramadan Mubarak Script or Eid Mubarak.
Color

Gold or silver lettering on black, on white for the Family Name designs, or on frosted white for the other three.
The name

For a Family Name design, send the name after you order; it is cut exactly as you write it.

The designs

Pick the greeting first

Shown here in gold on black, the one color every design comes in.

Size in the hand

Two sizes, a centimeter apart

The Family Name and Kufic designs are 22 × 13 cm; Script and Eid are 21 × 13 cm. Both are drawn below at true scale against a dining table, which is the honest way to judge them.

Designs	Width × height (in)	Width × height (cm)	Best for
Family Name and Kufic	8.7 × 5.1″	22 × 13 cm	A console, a sideboard or the iftar table
Script and Eid	8.3 × 5.1″	21 × 13 cm	A shelf, a desk or a dessert table

Send the name after you order. A Family Name piece is cut to the name you give, so nothing is made until it arrives. Send it exactly as you want it to read — spelling, spacing and capitals are all reproduced as written.

Using it

Living with it

A table piece is set down once and left, so the two minutes spent deciding where are the whole job.

Stand it on its base

Fit the sign to its base and set it on a flat surface, square to where people sit.
Set it where it is read from

Stand it where it will be seen from a seat rather than from above, and move it once rather than twice.
Put it away after the month

Wipe it, wrap it and store it flat until next Ramadan or Eid.

Where it lives

Where it goes

The iftar table

In the middle of the table, where the whole family sees it when the fast is broken.

A console or a sideboard

The run of furniture guests pass, where a piece this size is seen at standing height.

A shelf or a desk

Close enough to be read at arm’s length, which is the distance the lettering is cut for.

Against the alternatives

	This piece	Commonly sold alternatives
Material	Cut acrylic on its own base	A printed card or paper banner
Designs	Five, two with your family name	Usually one fixed greeting
Colors	Gold or silver on black, white or frosted white	Usually one fixed color

Care

Keeping it as it arrived

Dry cloth only

Alcohol and household cleaners craze acrylic. A dry, soft cloth, or a barely damp one dried at once.

Mind the gloss

A glossy face takes fingerprints. Handle it by the edges or the base.

Keep it out of direct heat

Acrylic is happy on a table and unhappy on a radiator or a sunlit sill all afternoon.

Pick yours
