Ayat al-Kursi · Al-Baqarah 255

Two metals in one circle, script against surround

Ayat al-Kursi cut from 1.5 mm metal in a round form, with the script and the surround cut as two separate pieces and finished in different tones. Three sizes, up to 115 cm tall.

Three decisions before it ships

  1. Size

Three sizes, 49 and 70 and 90 cm wide, drawn to scale against a sofa below.

  2. Finish

Four two-tone combinations across gold, silver and black.

  3. Hanging

Three nails: two for the outer ring's upper tips, one for the top center of the inner script.

What is written on it

Ayat al-Kursi, in full

The complete verse, not an excerpt. Splitting the tone between script and surround is what makes the calligraphy step forward on the wall.

“Allah! There is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.”

Surah Al-Baqarah 2:255

Size & scale

A circle reads wider than a rectangle of the same size

There is no straight edge to sit against the wall, so a round piece takes more of the eye than its width suggests. All three are drawn below at true scale above a three-seat sofa.

Three-seat sofa · 200 cm (79 in) wide, 82 cm (32 in) high 2XL · 90 × 115 cm 45.6 × 35.4 in XL · 70 × 90 cm 28 × 36 in L · 49 × 63 cm 19.3 × 24.8 in
SizeWidth × height (in)Width × height (cm)Best for
L19.3 × 24.8″49 × 63 cmAbove a console or a two-seat sofa
XL28 × 36″70 × 90 cmA main living-room wall
2XL45.6 × 35.4″90 × 115 cmA full feature wall, read from across the room

Mark it before you choose. Run painter's tape on the wall to the outer width and height, then stand back to where you normally sit and look at it from there. On a tall piece, hang it with its middle around 150 cm from the floor and the drop does the rest.

Craft

The depth is structural, not printed

The script and the ring around it are cut and finished as separate parts, and they hang as separate parts. That is where the two-tone options come from, and why the calligraphy separates from its surround at any angle.

  • Letterforms cut clean through, so the wall color becomes part of the artwork
  • Finished in a static paint, applied for an even surface across the piece
  • Cut edges left clean through the fine strokes of the script

On the finish. The color is a static paint laid over real metal, which keeps the weight and the cut edge of metal while giving an even surface across the whole piece.

Finishes

The finishes

Each combination sets one metal for the script and another for the surround, so you choose which of the two leads.

In Gold Out Silver

The script in gold inside a silver surround, so the calligraphy carries the eye and the frame holds back — the gold reads warmest against off-white and cream.

The script in silver inside a gold surround, so the calligraphy carries the eye and the frame holds back — the silver sits coolest, and suits a room with chrome or glass.

In Gold Out Black

The script in gold inside a black surround, so the calligraphy carries the eye and the frame holds back — the gold reads warmest against off-white and cream.

Hanging it

Center it, and the circle does the rest

The outer ring and the inner script hang as two separate pieces on three nails: one at each of the ring's two upper tips, one at the top center of the inner piece. Work from the center point and the rest follows.

  1. Find the center, not the top

A circle has no top edge to level against, so mark the center point on the wall — about 150 cm up — and measure the three nail positions from it.

  2. Tape the diameter first

Painter's tape across the full width shows how much wall it will take. A circle reads larger than a rectangle of the same width.

  3. Hang and step back

Hang the outer ring on its two nails and the inner piece on the third, so it sits centered inside the ring. Then walk to the far side of the room: a circle sitting slightly off-center shows more than a rectangle hung slightly crooked.

  • Three hangers on the back: two on the outer ring, one on the inner piece
  • Packed with corner protection for transit

Where it goes

Where it goes

Above a console or mantel

A circle centers on a wall without needing clear width either side, which is what makes it work over furniture.

The prayer corner

It sits at standing eye level and holds its shape when seen from an angle.

Stairwell and entry

A round piece carries a tall, awkward wall better than a rectangle, because there is no edge to fight the staircase line.

Care

Keeping it as it arrived

Dry cloth only

A soft, dry cloth. Lift it by the edges when you move it, since a shiny surface shows fingerprints more readily than a matte one.

No cleaners

Alcohol, glass cleaner and polish will cut into a painted surface. A barely damp cloth, dried straight away, is enough.

Away from damp

An indoor piece. Keep it off bathroom walls and away from a kitchen extractor.

Choose your size and finish

Sizes to suit the wall, and the finish is the rest of the decision. Tape the diameter first — it is the only measurement that matters.

Frequently Asked Questions

Displaying Ayatul Kursi is widely considered permissible and is a virtuous practice for 'Dhikr' (remembrance). Scholars at the Islamic Bulletin suggest that hanging such verses helps transform a living space into a place of reflection. As long as the art is treated with 'Adab' (etiquette)—placed in a clean, elevated position and not near areas of impurity—it is a respected addition to any Muslim home.

Ayatul Kursi is known as the 'Verse of Protection.' Authentic narrations suggest that its recitation or presence serves as a spiritual shield against evil, anxiety, and harm. It describes Allah’s 'Kursi' (Throne) extending over the heavens and the earth, reminding the household that His guardianship is constant and effortless, bringing peace and 'Sakina' to the environment.

The most respectful locations are the living room, foyer, or a dedicated prayer space. Many choose to hang it near the main entrance so it is the first and last thing seen when entering or leaving the home. To maintain proper etiquette, ensure it is hung high on the wall, above shoulder level, and never in bathrooms or areas where it might be treated with low regard.

No, our metal pieces undergo a premium electro-coating process in Turkey. This industrial finish is far superior to standard paint or stainless steel, as it creates a chemical bond that is rust-resistant and durable. Whether you choose Gold, Silver, or Black, the finish will remain vibrant and will not tarnish or peel, even in humid climates.

Accuracy is our highest priority. Every piece is designed following the traditional Uthmani script found. Our expert calligraphers in Turkey meticulously verify every 'Nuqta' (dot) and 'Haraka' (vowel mark) to ensure the sacred text is perfectly preserved. This ensures your wall art is a faithful and religiously sound representation of Allah's word.

Handle the art with the same respect you would show a Mushaf. We recommend being in a state of 'Wudu' (ablution) when touching the sacred text. When cleaning, use a soft, dry microfiber cloth to gently remove dust without using chemicals. If you are moving, wrap the piece in a clean cloth and ensure it never touches the floor during the transition.

With 6,700+ customer reviews, IWA is a trusted authority in premium Islamic decor. We combine high-end Turkish manufacturing with a deep understanding of religious values. Every piece is a result of centuries-old craftsmanship traditions, ensuring that your Ayatul Kursi is not just a product, but a meaningful spiritual heirloom.

Production speed depends on the material. Either wood or metal, both types are produced in our Turkish workshop and shipped via express delivery to reach you within 3-7 business days.

Yes, it is common and permissible to hang Ayatul Kursi in a bedroom to bring a sense of safety and tranquility. In a child's nursery, it serves as a beautiful introduction to the power of Allah. Ensure it is mounted securely and at a height that remains out of reach of small children to protect both the art and the sanctity of the text.

You can explain that Ayatul Kursi is a 'Hymn of Divine Majesty.' It describes God's eternal nature, His absolute knowledge, and His throne that encompasses the entire universe. It is a verse of peace and protection that reminds Muslims that God never grows tired of watching over His creation, reflecting a universal message of hope and divine care.

The screws in the metal wall art are for the hanging bracket on the back and for the blind feet to provide a 3D view. Never attempt to remove them.
