Translation of Ayatul Kursi:

"Allah! There is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great."

Ayat al-Kursi in a mihrab arch

The verse, held inside a polished arch

Ayat al-Kursi cut into a mihrab-shaped steel arch and electropolished to a shine, in two sizes — 43 × 70 cm or 61 × 100 cm.

Three decisions before it ships

  1. Size

    Two sizes — 43 × 70 cm or 61 × 100 cm — drawn to scale against a sofa below.

  2. Finish

Four combinations of polished gold and silver, chosen for the inner and the outer separately.

  3. Hanging

It arrives with the hanging tools, so the work is the center line and one level check.

What is written on it

The Throne Verse, inside the arch

The verse recited for protection, set inside the shape of a mihrab — so the piece marks the direction as well as carrying the words.

“Allah! And He is the Most High, the Most Great.”

Surah Al-Baqarah 2:255

Size & scale

An arch is judged on its height, not its width

Both sizes are around one and a half times taller than they are wide, so the arch reads as an opening rather than a panel. Drawn below at true scale above a three-seat sofa.

Three-seat sofa · 200 cm (79 in) wide, 82 cm (32 in) high L · 61 × 100 cm 24 × 39.4 in M · 43 × 70 cm 16.9 × 27.6 in
SizeWidth × height (in)Width × height (cm)Best for
M16.9 × 27.6″43 × 70 cmA musalla, a landing, or a narrow prayer corner
L24 × 39.4″61 × 100 cmA prayer-room or main living-room wall — the size most chosen

Mark it before you choose. Run painter's tape on the wall to the outer width and height, then stand back to where you normally sit and look at it from there. On a tall piece, hang it with its middle around 150 cm from the floor and the drop does the rest.

Materials

What it is made of

Craft

Polished on real steel

Steel rather than sheet metal, which is what lets the arch hold its shape at a meter tall. The shine is polished onto the metal itself rather than sprayed over it, so the reflection carries depth and the script keeps its edge.

  • Cut steel, electropolished to its shine
  • Letterforms cut clean through, so the wall color becomes part of the artwork
  • Brushed along the grain, then brought to its shine in a polishing bath
  • A reflection with depth rather than the flat look of a sprayed coating

On the shiny finishes. The shine is polished onto real metal rather than sprayed on, so the reflection carries depth. Because the polishing is a hand-run stage, each piece has its own character in the surface.

Finishes

The finishes

Four combinations of gold and silver. Matching the two reads as one object; contrasting them separates the verse from the arch around it.

Ayatul Kursi mihrab shiny metal wall art in in shiny gold out shiny silver

In Shiny Gold Out Shiny Silver

Brushed and electropolished. Gold script within a silver outline. The calligraphy comes forward and the frame stays back.

Ayatul Kursi mihrab shiny metal wall art in in shiny silver out shiny gold

In Shiny Silver Out Shiny Gold

Brushed and electropolished. The reverse. The outline leads, and the script sits cool inside it.

Ayatul Kursi mihrab shiny metal wall art in full shiny gold

Full Shiny Gold

Brushed and electropolished. Both parts in gold. The warmest of the four, and the one that reads best against a dark or deep-toned wall.

Ayatul Kursi mihrab shiny metal wall art in full shiny silver

Full Shiny Silver

Brushed and electropolished. Both parts in silver. Cooler and quieter, and the easiest to place in a room that already has chrome or glass in it.

Hanging it

One center line, and the arch does the rest

A tall arch is read from its middle rather than its top edge, so mark the center about 150 cm from the floor and hang to that.

  1. Mark the center, not the top

Pencil a point about 150 cm up from the floor. On a tall piece the center line matters more than the top edge.

  2. Tape the outline first

Painter's tape to the full width and height lets you judge the position from where you normally sit.

  3. Hang and level

Hook it onto its fixing, slide it until it sits straight, then step back across the room to confirm.

Where it goes

The corner it was made for

The prayer corner

The wall you face when you lay out the mat, at standing eye level rather than above it.

A hallway or landing

It reads on the way past, on a wall people walk by rather than sit in front of.

Above a console

A main living-room wall, centered on the furniture beneath rather than on the wall as a whole.

Care

Keeping it as it arrived

Along the grain

A soft, dry microfibre cloth moving in the direction of the brushing. Lift it by the edges when you move it.

No cleaners

Alcohol, glass cleaner and polish will cut into a polished metal surface. A barely damp cloth, dried at once, lifts anything a dry cloth will not.

Away from damp

An indoor piece. Keep it off bathroom walls and away from a kitchen extractor, where steady humidity dulls a polished finish.

Choose your size and finish

Two sizes, and the finish is the rest of the decision. Tape the outline on the wall first — it is the only measurement that matters.

Frequently Asked Questions

Displaying Ayatul Kursi is widely considered permissible and is a virtuous practice for 'Dhikr' (remembrance). Scholars at the Islamic Bulletin suggest that hanging such verses helps transform a living space into a place of reflection. As long as the art is treated with 'Adab' (etiquette)—placed in a clean, elevated position and not near areas of impurity—it is a respected addition to any Muslim home.

Ayatul Kursi is known as the 'Verse of Protection.' Authentic narrations suggest that its recitation or presence serves as a spiritual shield against evil, anxiety, and harm. It describes Allah’s 'Kursi' (Throne) extending over the heavens and the earth, reminding the household that His guardianship is constant and effortless, bringing peace and 'Sakina' to the environment.

The most respectful locations are the living room, foyer, or a dedicated prayer space. Many choose to hang it near the main entrance so it is the first and last thing seen when entering or leaving the home. To maintain proper etiquette, ensure it is hung high on the wall, above shoulder level, and never in bathrooms or areas where it might be treated with low regard.

No, our metal pieces undergo a premium electro-coating process in Turkey. This industrial finish is far superior to standard paint or stainless steel, as it creates a chemical bond that is rust-resistant and durable. Whether you choose Gold, Silver, or Black, the finish will remain vibrant and will not tarnish or peel, even in humid climates.

Accuracy is our highest priority. Every piece is designed following the traditional Uthmani script found. Our expert calligraphers in Turkey meticulously verify every 'Nuqta' (dot) and 'Haraka' (vowel mark) to ensure the sacred text is perfectly preserved. This ensures your wall art is a faithful and religiously sound representation of Allah's word.

Handle the art with the same respect you would show a Mushaf. We recommend being in a state of 'Wudu' (ablution) when touching the sacred text. When cleaning, use a soft, dry microfiber cloth to gently remove dust without using chemicals. If you are moving, wrap the piece in a clean cloth and ensure it never touches the floor during the transition.

With over 6,000 five-star reviews, IWA is a trusted authority in premium Islamic decor. We combine high-end Turkish manufacturing with a deep understanding of religious values. Every piece is a result of centuries-old craftsmanship traditions, ensuring that your Ayatul Kursi is not just a product, but a meaningful spiritual heirloom.

Production speed depends on the material. Either wood or metal, both types are produced in our Turkish workshop and shipped via express delivery to reach you within 3-7 business days.

Yes, it is common and permissible to hang Ayatul Kursi in a bedroom to bring a sense of safety and tranquility. In a child's nursery, it serves as a beautiful introduction to the power of Allah. Ensure it is mounted securely and at a height that remains out of reach of small children to protect both the art and the sanctity of the text.

You can explain that Ayatul Kursi is a 'Hymn of Divine Majesty.' It describes God's eternal nature, His absolute knowledge, and His throne that encompasses the entire universe. It is a verse of peace and protection that reminds Muslims that God never grows tired of watching over His creation, reflecting a universal message of hope and divine care.
