A mehndi sign

Acrylic calligraphy on a tall glass panel

A mehndi sign set in acrylic over tempered glass. Three sizes, 35 × 50 up to 55 × 70 cm.

Two decisions before it ships

  1. Size

Three sizes, 35 × 50 up to 55 × 70 cm, drawn to scale against a sofa below.

  2. Hanging

A hanging part is fitted to the back and one nail carries it.

What is written on it

The words themselves

And We created you in pairs — the verse read at a nikkah, here on a panel meant for the mehndi table rather than the wall alone.

وَخَلَقْنَاكُمْ اَزْوَاجاًۙ

“And We created you in pairs.”

Surah An-Naba 78:8

Size & scale

Three sizes, 35 × 50 up to 55 × 70 cm

The ladder runs from 35 × 50 cm up to 55 × 70 cm, so the constraint is the clear height above the furniture. All three are drawn below at true scale above a three-seat sofa.

Three-seat sofa · 200 cm (79 in) wide, 82 cm (32 in) high 2XL · 55 × 70 cm 21.7 × 27.6 in XL · 46 × 61 cm 18.1 × 24 in L · 35 × 50 cm 13.8 × 19.7 in
SizeWidth × height (in)Width × height (cm)Best for
L13.8 × 19.7″35 × 50 cmA narrow wall beside a door, or a prayer corner
XL18.1 × 24″46 × 61 cmA hallway, or the wall beside a bookcase — the size most chosen
2XL21.7 × 27.6″55 × 70 cmA feature wall, or a stairwell

Mark it before you choose. Run painter's tape on the wall to the outer width and height, then stand back to where you normally sit and look at it from there. On a tall piece, hang it with its middle around 150 cm from the floor and the drop does the rest.

Craft

Acrylic on glass, not printed on it

The calligraphy is cut from acrylic and laid onto the glass, so it stands proud of the surface. The glass is produced as one piece.

  • Acrylic calligraphy standing proud of the glass
  • Calligraphy in acrylic, layered onto the painted glass rather than printed on it
  • Tempered glass at 4 mm, produced as a single piece
  • A metal hanging part fitted to the back, so nothing shows on the face

On tempered glass. Tempered glass is heat-treated after cutting, which is what lets a single 4 mm sheet hang from one nail and take a knock without a frame around it. The color is painted onto the glass, so it sits behind the surface you touch.

Hanging it

One nail, and one level line

Glass wants the hanger measured rather than guessed, and it wants carrying by the edges. Both take a minute.

  1. Lay it face down and find the hanger

Set it on a towel, face down, and measure from the top edge to the metal hanging part. That one number is the whole job.

  2. Pencil one level line

Mark a light horizontal line at hanger height, centered on the furniture below rather than on the wall as a whole.

  3. One nail, then lift by the edges

Set a single nail on the line. Carry the panel by its edges — never by the calligraphy — and hook it on.

Where it goes

Where it goes

The prayer corner

The wall you face when you lay out the mat, where a single piece is read rather than looked at.

Above a console or a sideboard

It sits over a run of furniture as one object, without needing a second piece to balance it.

A hallway or a study wall

One piece suits the wall you pass or sit facing, where a set would be too much.

Care

Keeping it as it arrived

Dry cloth only

A soft, dry cloth on the glass face. Nothing abrasive, and nothing on the acrylic calligraphy.

No ammonia or alcohol

Household glass cleaner attacks both the paint behind the glass and the acrylic on it. A barely damp cloth, dried at once, is enough.

Lift it by the edges

An 4 mm sheet is heavy for its size and the calligraphy stands proud of the face. Carry it by the edges, never by the script.

Choose your size and finish

Three sizes, one construction. Tape the outline on the wall before you choose — the jump from 46 × 61 to 55 × 70 is larger than it reads on a screen.

Frequently Asked Questions

While often associated with marriage, the term 'Azwaja' refers to a universal duality. It describes the complementary nature of creation: male and female, day and night, light and shadow. It suggests that nothing in this world is complete on its own; everything finds its purpose and 'Sakinah' (tranquility) through its counterpart.

It acts as a spiritual anchor for a relationship. Displaying this verse in a shared space serves as a reminder that the union between spouses is a deliberate Divine design. It encourages mutual respect and a sense of shared purpose, framing the marriage as a fulfillment of a primordial law of creation.

Its brevity makes it visually striking. The three Arabic words are often rendered in balanced, symmetrical calligraphy that fits perfectly in minimalist settings. It delivers a high-impact spiritual message with elegant simplicity, making it a favorite for contemporary homes.

The base of the art is high-strength tempered glass. The Arabic calligraphy is then precision-cut from high-gloss or mirrored acrylic (plexiglass) and meticulously mounted onto the glass surface. This creates a multi-layered effect where the text physically stands out, catching light from multiple angles for a premium 3D look.

Tempered glass is 4-5 times stronger than standard glass and is incredibly resistant to scratches. It provides a crystal-clear, high-gloss background that enhances the depth of the art, giving the entire piece a modern, luxurious 'gallery' feel that complements contemporary interiors.

No. We use premium-grade acrylic that is color-saturated and UV-resistant. The specialized adhesive used to bond the acrylic to the glass is industrial-strength and designed to withstand temperature changes, ensuring the 3D letters stay perfectly in place for years.

Maintenance is effortless. Use a standard glass cleaner and a soft microfiber cloth. Gently wipe the glass sections and lightly dab the acrylic letters. Avoiding abrasive sponges or heavy scrubbing ensures the mirrored or glossy finish of the acrylic remains scratch-free and brilliant.

The combination of glass and 3D acrylic is at the forefront of modern Islamic art. It is a prestigious gift for weddings or housewarmings because it bridges the gap between ancient tradition and high-end modern design, offering a level of depth and 'shine' that traditional canvas cannot match.

No. The piece is designed with a hidden, integrated hanging mechanism on the back. When hung, it sits slightly off the wall (the 'floating' effect), and all brackets are obscured by the art itself, ensuring a clean and professional look without visible screws or brackets.

Our master designers in Turkey verify every 'harakat' (vowel mark) and diacritical point against the Uthmani script. Because the letters are laser-cut from acrylic, the precision is absolute—ensuring that every curve of the script is both artistically beautiful and spiritually correct.

Tempered glass is moisture-resistant, but the artwork or ink used may not be waterproof. It's best to keep the art indoors and away from direct exposure to rain or high humidity. If used in bathrooms, ensure it's in a well-ventilated area and securely mounted.

While tempered glass itself resists UV damage, the printed artwork may gradually fade if exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods. For longevity, it's recommended to place your wall art away from harsh, direct sunlight or use UV-protective window films.

Use a soft microfiber cloth and a mild glass cleaner. Spray the cleaner onto the cloth (not directly onto the glass) and gently wipe the surface. Avoid abrasive materials or strong chemicals, as they may scratch the glass or damage the artwork's finish.

Yes, tempered glass is significantly stronger and safer than regular glass. It is heat-resistant and designed to shatter into small, less dangerous pieces if broken. This makes it safe for use in various rooms, including kitchens and even children's rooms—though proper installation is essential.
