Surah Al-A’raf, verse 31

Acrylic calligraphy on a long glass panel

Surah Al-A’raf, verse 31 set in acrylic over tempered glass. Three sizes, 80 × 33 up to 110 × 50 cm.

Two decisions before it ships

  1. Size

Three sizes, 80 × 33 up to 110 × 50 cm, drawn to scale against a sofa below.

  2. Hanging

A hanging part is fitted to the back and one nail carries it. It ships ready to hang.

What is written on it

The words themselves

Eat and drink, but do not be wasteful — a verse about the table, which is where it belongs.

وكُلُواْ وَاشْرَبُواْ وَلاَ تُسْرِفُواْ إِنَّهُ لاَ يُحِبُّ الْمُسْرِفِينَ

“Eat and drink, but do not be wasteful indeed, He does not love the wasteful.”

Surah Al-A’raf 7:31

Size & scale

Three sizes, 80 × 33 up to 110 × 50 cm

The ladder runs from 80 × 33 cm up to 110 × 50 cm, so the constraint is the clear run of wall. All three are drawn below at true scale above a three-seat sofa.

Three-seat sofa · 200 cm (79 in) wide, 82 cm (32 in) high XL · 110 × 50 cm 43.3 × 19.7 in L · 90 × 33 cm 35.4 × 13 in M · 80 × 33 cm 31.5 × 13 in
SizeWidth × height (in)Width × height (cm)Best for
M31.5 × 13″80 × 33 cmAbove a console or a two-seat sofa
L35.4 × 13″90 × 33 cmAbove a three-seat sofa or a sideboard — the size most chosen
XL43.3 × 19.7″110 × 50 cmA living-room feature wall, read from across the room

Match it to the furniture, not the wall. A low horizontal piece looks right when it spans roughly two thirds of whatever sits beneath it. Run painter's tape to the full width first and look at it from where you normally sit.

Craft

Acrylic on glass, not printed on it

The calligraphy is cut from acrylic and laid onto the glass, so it stands proud of the surface. The glass is produced as one piece.

  • Acrylic calligraphy standing proud of the glass
  • Calligraphy in acrylic, layered onto the painted glass rather than printed on it
  • Tempered glass at 4 mm, produced as a single piece
  • A metal hanging part fitted to the back, so nothing shows on the face

On tempered glass. Tempered glass is heat-treated after cutting, which is what lets a single 4 mm sheet hang from one nail and take a knock without a frame around it. The color is painted onto the glass, so it sits behind the surface you touch.

Hanging it

One nail, and one level line

Glass wants the hanger measured rather than guessed, and it wants carrying by the edges. Both take a minute.

  1. Lay it face down and find the hanger

Set it on a towel, face down, and measure from the top edge to the metal hanging part. That one number is the whole job.

  2. Pencil one level line

Mark a light horizontal line at hanger height, centered on the furniture below rather than on the wall as a whole.

  3. One nail, then lift by the edges

Set a single nail on the line. Carry the panel by its edges — never by the calligraphy — and hook it on.

  • Mounting bracket already fitted to the back
  • Ships ready to hang; no frame, glass or backing board to fit
  • Packed with corner protection for transit

Where it goes

Where it goes

Above the sofa

The wall a wide glass panel was made for, spanning roughly two thirds of the seat beneath it.

Dining and console walls

A long, low panel sits naturally over a sideboard, and glass takes the light a matte piece cannot.

An entry or hallway

A mirrored ground throws light back down a corridor, which is what makes a narrow space read wider.

Care

Keeping it as it arrived

Dry cloth only

A soft, dry cloth on the glass face. Nothing abrasive, and nothing on the acrylic calligraphy.

No ammonia or alcohol

Household glass cleaner attacks both the paint behind the glass and the acrylic on it. A barely damp cloth, dried at once, is enough.

Lift it by the edges

An 4 mm sheet is heavy for its size and the calligraphy stands proud of the face. Carry it by the edges, never by the script.

Choose your size and finish

Three sizes, one construction. Tape the outline on the wall before you choose — the jump from 90 × 33 to 110 × 50 is larger than it reads on a screen.

Frequently Asked Questions

This verse is a Divine invitation to enjoy life's blessings within the boundaries of 'Israf' (extravagance). It teaches that our physical health and the environment are trusts (Amanah) from Allah. By displaying this, you ground your dining experience in the prophetic principle of 'Middle Path' moderation, which is a form of worship in itself.

Having this verse visible in the dining area acts as a silent 'Adab' (etiquette) coach. It encourages mindfulness at the table—reminding children and adults alike to appreciate the sustenance provided while being conscious of portions and waste. It transforms a routine meal into a mindful act of gratitude.

It is most traditionally placed in kitchens, dining rooms, or breakfast nooks. Because the message is specifically about consumption, placing it where the family gathers to eat ensures the reminder is relevant and impactful at the exact moment it is needed most.

Tempered glass is exceptionally durable and heat-resistant, making it ideal for kitchen environments. It is significantly stronger than standard glass and shatter-resistant. Visually, the glass surface provides a depth and luminosity that enhances the colors of the calligraphy, giving it a modern, gallery-quality finish.

We use handmade craftmanship techniques to apply the calligraphy onto the glass. This ensures the sacred text is shielded by the glass itself, protecting it from grease, steam, and fading. The result is a vibrant, 'jewel-like' appearance that remains pristine for years.

Our arts feature high-definition colors and polished, rounded edges for a sophisticated look. The interaction between the glossy surface and your room's lighting creates a dynamic visual experience, as the calligraphy appears to float within the depth of the material.

Maintenance is simple: a standard glass cleaner and a soft microfiber cloth will easily remove dust or kitchen grease. Since the art is printed on the back, you can clean the front surface as often as needed without any risk of damaging the calligraphy or the colors.

Gifting Surah Al-A'raf 31 is a gesture of wishing a family a life of health and balance. It is a prestigious and practical choice that bridges the gap between home decor and spiritual guidance, making it a highly appreciated gift for new couples or those moving into a new home.

Yes. Each piece comes with a specialized, heavy-duty mounting system pre-installed on the back. It is designed to hold the weight of the tempered glass securely while keeping it slightly offset from the wall for a professional 'floating' appearance without visible hardware.

Our master designers in Turkey verify every vowel and diacritical mark of the verse. We combine the heritage of Turkish calligraphy with modern glass-printing technology to deliver a piece that is spiritually authentic and artistically superior.

Tempered glass is moisture-resistant, but the artwork or ink used may not be waterproof. It's best to keep the art indoors and away from direct exposure to rain or high humidity. If used in bathrooms, ensure it's in a well-ventilated area and securely mounted.

While tempered glass itself resists UV damage, the printed artwork may gradually fade if exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods. For longevity, it's recommended to place your wall art away from harsh, direct sunlight or use UV-protective window films.

Use a soft microfiber cloth and a mild glass cleaner. Spray the cleaner onto the cloth (not directly onto the glass) and gently wipe the surface. Avoid abrasive materials or strong chemicals, as they may scratch the glass or damage the artwork's finish.

Yes, tempered glass is significantly stronger and safer than regular glass. It is heat-resistant and designed to shatter into small, less dangerous pieces if broken. This makes it safe for use in various rooms, including kitchens and even children's rooms—though proper installation is essential.
