The verse of the evil eye

Acrylic calligraphy on a long glass panel

The verse of the evil eye set in acrylic over tempered glass. Two sizes, 61 × 46 up to 70 × 55 cm.

Two decisions before it ships

  1. Size

Two sizes, 61 × 46 up to 70 × 55 cm, drawn to scale against a sofa below.

  2. Hanging

A hanging part is fitted to the back and one nail carries it. It ships ready to hang.

What is written on it

The words themselves

The verses recited against the eye, which is what puts this at an entry rather than in a back room.

“The disbelievers would almost cut you down with their eyes when they hear (you recite) the Reminder, and say, “He is certainly a madman.”

Surah Al-Qalam 68:51-52

Size & scale

Two sizes, 61 × 46 up to 70 × 55 cm

The ladder runs from 61 × 46 cm up to 70 × 55 cm, so the constraint is the clear run of wall. Both are drawn below at true scale above a three-seat sofa.

Three-seat sofa · 200 cm (79 in) wide, 82 cm (32 in) high L · 70 × 55 cm 27.6 × 21.7 in M · 61 × 46 cm 24 × 18.1 in
SizeWidth × height (in)Width × height (cm)Best for
M24 × 18.1″61 × 46 cmAbove a console or a two-seat sofa
L27.6 × 21.7″70 × 55 cmA living-room feature wall, read from across the room

Match it to the furniture, not the wall. A low horizontal piece looks right when it spans roughly two thirds of whatever sits beneath it. Run painter's tape to the full width first and look at it from where you normally sit.

Craft

Acrylic on glass, not printed on it

The calligraphy is cut from acrylic and laid onto the glass, so it stands proud of the surface. The glass is produced as one piece.

  • Acrylic calligraphy standing proud of the glass
  • Calligraphy in acrylic, layered onto the painted glass rather than printed on it
  • Tempered glass at 4 mm, produced as a single piece
  • A metal hanging part fitted to the back, so nothing shows on the face

On tempered glass. Tempered glass is heat-treated after cutting, which is what lets a single 4 mm sheet hang from one nail and take a knock without a frame around it. The color is painted onto the glass, so it sits behind the surface you touch.

Hanging it

One nail, and one level line

Glass wants the hanger measured rather than guessed, and it wants carrying by the edges. Both take a minute.

  1. Lay it face down and find the hanger

Set it on a towel, face down, and measure from the top edge to the metal hanging part. That one number is the whole job.

  2. Pencil one level line

Mark a light horizontal line at hanger height, centered on the furniture below rather than on the wall as a whole.

  3. One nail, then lift by the edges

Set a single nail on the line. Carry the panel by its edges — never by the calligraphy — and hook it on.

  • Ships ready to hang; no frame, glass or backing board to fit
  • Packed with corner protection for transit

Where it goes

Where it goes

Above the sofa

The wall a wide glass panel was made for, spanning roughly two thirds of the seat beneath it.

Dining and console walls

A long, low panel sits naturally over a sideboard, and glass takes the light a matte piece cannot.

An entry or hallway

A mirrored ground throws light back down a corridor, which is what makes a narrow space read wider.

Care

Keeping it as it arrived

Dry cloth only

A soft, dry cloth on the glass face. Nothing abrasive, and nothing on the acrylic calligraphy.

No ammonia or alcohol

Household glass cleaner attacks both the paint behind the glass and the acrylic on it. A barely damp cloth, dried at once, is enough.

Lift it by the edges

An 4 mm sheet is heavy for its size and the calligraphy stands proud of the face. Carry it by the edges, never by the script.

Choose your size and finish

Two sizes, one construction. Tape the outline on the wall before you choose — the jump from 61 × 46 to 70 × 55 is larger than it reads on a screen.

Frequently Asked Questions

These verses were revealed when the envious gaze of the disbelievers was so intense it was as if they could 'trip' the Prophet (PBUH) with their eyes. Displaying this verse serves as a spiritual shield for the home, acknowledging that while envy exists, Allah’s protection and the reminder of the Qur'an are supreme.

In Islamic tradition, the blue 'Nazar' bead is a cultural symbol, whereas these verses are the actual Word of Allah. Displaying the Qur'anic text shifts the focus from a physical object to Divine Remembrance (Dhikr), seeking protection through the recitation and presence of sacred scripture rather than a charm.

It is most traditionally placed in entryways, foyers, or main living rooms—places where guests and visitors first enter the home. This placement serves a dual purpose: it reminds the inhabitants of Allah’s protection and encourages visitors to begin their entry with 'Mashallah' or 'TabarakAllah.'

Glass art offers a level of depth and luminosity that other materials cannot match. We use tempered, high-strength glass that is shatter-resistant. The reflective surface interacts beautifully with the light in your room, giving the calligraphy a vibrant, 'jewel-like' appearance that feels exceptionally modern and high-end.

We use advanced UV printing and specialized bonding techniques to apply the calligraphy to the reverse side of the glass. This protects the art from the environment and creates a sense of depth, as you are looking 'through' the glass at the sacred text, resulting in a glossy, flawless finish.

The tempered glass is scratch-resistant and highly durable. Because the ink is UV-cured and sealed on the back, it is protected from fading, moisture, and dust. This ensures the deep blacks, golds, or vibrant colors remain as sharp as the day you hung the piece, even in bright rooms.

Glass is one of the easiest materials to maintain. A simple spray of standard glass cleaner and a soft microfiber cloth will remove any fingerprints or dust. Because the art is on the back of the glass, you don't have to worry about damaging the calligraphy while cleaning the surface.

Gifting a 'Nazar Verse' is a gesture of deep care and well-wishing. It is a prestigious housewarming choice because it offers the new homeowners a permanent source of spiritual peace and protection, making it a highly respected and enduring gift for friends and family.

Yes. Each glass piece comes with a specialized, heavy-duty mounting system pre-installed on the back. It is designed to hold the weight of the tempered glass securely while keeping it slightly offset from the wall for a professional 'floating' look without visible or distracting hardware.

Our master designers in Turkey verify every vowel and diacritical mark of the Surah Al-Qalam text. We combine the ancestral heritage of Turkish calligraphy with modern glass-printing technology to deliver a piece that is spiritually authentic and artistically superior.

Tempered glass is moisture-resistant, but the artwork or ink used may not be waterproof. It's best to keep the art indoors and away from direct exposure to rain or high humidity. If used in bathrooms, ensure it's in a well-ventilated area and securely mounted.

While tempered glass itself resists UV damage, the printed artwork may gradually fade if exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods. For longevity, it's recommended to place your wall art away from harsh, direct sunlight or use UV-protective window films.

Use a soft microfiber cloth and a mild glass cleaner. Spray the cleaner onto the cloth (not directly onto the glass) and gently wipe the surface. Avoid abrasive materials or strong chemicals, as they may scratch the glass or damage the artwork's finish.

Yes, tempered glass is significantly stronger and safer than regular glass. It is heat-resistant and designed to shatter into small, less dangerous pieces if broken. This makes it safe for use in various rooms, including kitchens and even children's rooms—though proper installation is essential.
