A crescent magnet marks the day

A calendar whose marker is a crescent that moves with the month

A calendar whose marker is a crescent that moves with the month, in 19 × 30 cm.

Three decisions before it ships

  1. What it is

A calendar whose marker is a crescent that moves with the month. The magnet moves one square a day, which is the whole interaction.

  2. Size

    Made in 19 × 30 cm.

  3. In use

The magnet moves one square a day, which is the whole interaction.

Size on the table

How big is it, really?

One size, 19 × 30 cm — drawn below beside a dining table, at the same scale.

Measured against the table it goes on. The table in the drawing is 120 cm across and 75 cm high, which is a standard dining table — the piece is drawn on it at the same scale, so the footprint it takes is the footprint you see.

Craft

How it is made

Cut from sheet, so the shapes are the material rather than a pattern laid on it.

  • A steel body, powder painted black — the color is baked on rather than sprayed over
  • A gold acrylic face carrying the script, laid over that painted steel
  • Powder paint is the harder of the two finishes, which is why it is the one that takes the handling

On the powder paint. Powder paint is applied dry and cured with heat, so it bonds to the steel instead of sitting on it. That is what lets a piece handled every day of Ramadan still look the way it arrived.

Using it

Standing it up

The magnet moves one square a day, which is the whole interaction.

  1. Set it on something that will not flex

Cut sheet is heavier than it looks, and a piece this size wants a fixed shelf or a table rather than a stack of books.

  2. Turn the cut face toward the room

The shapes are cut right through, so the piece reads from the side the light comes from. Turn it until the gaps carry the light.

  3. Leave it room to cast a shadow

A few centimeters off the wall behind it and the cut-through pattern lands on that wall as well — which is half of what a cut piece is for.

Where it lives

Where it ends up

A console or a sideboard

The run of furniture guests pass, where a piece this size is seen at standing height rather than looked up at.

A shelf or a bookcase ledge

It needs depth rather than width, which is what a shelf has and a wall does not.

A desk or a study table

Close enough to be read at arm’s length, which is the distance the detail is cut for.

Care

Keeping it as it arrived

A dry cloth, nothing wet

Water, alcohol and household cleaners all mark acrylic. Dry and soft is the whole routine.

Hold it by the painted steel

The gold acrylic shows fingerprints more readily than the powder-painted body does.

Keep it off a hot surface

Acrylic is a thermoplastic. A radiator shelf or a sunlit sill for weeks is the one place it does not belong.

Foire aux questions

A Ramadan calendar transforms the passage of time into a conscious act of worship. By physically marking each day, the household maintains a high level of spiritual awareness. It helps pace the month's goals—such as Quranic recitation or habit-building—ensuring that the energy of the first ten days is sustained through to the night of Laylat al-Qadr.

For children, the concept of a month can feel abstract. An interactive calendar makes the Deen 'tangible.' Many families use the daily slots or markers to hide small treats, daily Sunnah challenges, or names of Allah to memorize. This creates positive, joyful associations with the fast and teaches the virtue of 'Sabr' (patience) as they wait for Eid.

Our designs bridge the gap between traditional Islamic geometry and modern minimalism. We often incorporate star-and-crescent motifs, mosque silhouettes, and elegant Arabic typography. The result is a piece of art that enhances your home’s aesthetic throughout the year, not just during the holy month.

Unlike flat paper calendars, our pieces utilize a multi-layered 3D approach. This provides a physical depth that makes the daily 'moving' of a marker or opening of a slot feel significant. The interplay of light and shadow on the layered surfaces adds a high-end, gallery-like feel to your Ramadan decor.

Since these are seasonal heirlooms, we use specialized, high-grade finishes that are resistant to fading and environmental wear. Whether it is a lustrous metallic coating or a smooth matte surface, the materials are chosen to be anti-tarnish and moisture-resistant, ensuring the calendar looks brand new every Ramadan.

The best location is a high-traffic family area, such as near the dining table where 'Iftar' and 'Suhoor' take place, or in a central living room. Elevating it on a prominent wall or placing it on a mantle makes it a focal point of conversation, reminding everyone of the month's sacred status.

To preserve the premium finish and intricate laser-cut details, we recommend a light dusting with a dry, soft microfiber cloth. When the month ends, store the piece in its original packaging in a cool, dry place to protect the reflective surfaces and moving parts from scratches or dust buildup.

It is a perfect and prestigious choice. Gifting a calendar at the start of the month is a gesture of shared excitement for the Deen. It is a gift that keeps giving for 30 days, making it highly appreciated for new couples, growing families, or as a centerpiece for a 'Ramadan Welcome' gift box.

Most of our wall-mounted calendars feature a discreet, pre-installed hanging system on the back, while tabletop versions are engineered for perfect balance. This ensures a clean, professional look without visible hardware, allowing the spiritual message and artistic design to remain the primary focus.

Every design is meticulously reviewed by our expert team in Turkey. From the phases of the moon to the proportions of the calligraphy, we ensure that every symbol respects Islamic traditions and artistic heritage, providing a piece that is both spiritually authentic and artistically superior.

To maintain its quality, clean the surface with a dry cloth; avoid using water, alcohol, or chemicals. The glossy surface may attract fingerprints, so handle with care.

During the ordering process, you'll have the option to provide your family's name in the order notes. Our team will then personalize the calendar accordingly. Please ensure the name is spelled correctly to avoid any errors.

The Islamic Wall Art Store offers a 15-day return policy. If you're not satisfied with your purchase, you can return the item in its original condition and packaging within 15 days of receipt. Please note that custom or personalized items may not be eligible for return. For more details, Returns & Refunds.

We do not recommend any chemical products. You can remove dust with a slightly damp cloth.
